There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

Late start again . When bedside clocks battery failed on Tuesday night I replaced it next day and inadvertently set the clock an hour slow . Had not noticed that till this morning ? Fixed now ! The dreams woke me today and I thought it to early for that ? Looked across the room to satellite box and it definitely said 0415 not 0315 . Like a delinquent tumbleweed I rolled out of bed to start the new,day !

Hello again , another new day with new love and new opportunity !

I have just opened my eyes after looking within to see what is the memory on top of the pile today .

Early 80's , 4 + me in our base camp in The Great Sandy Desert . We were near ( 1/2 km ) Lake Disappointment where we had gone to put in a drilling grid for r/c drilling program . We had a little dozer & its owner to clear the lines . It had been an adventure just to get to this pristine beautiful place .

About half way through the job when L started the dozer first thing in the morning there was a breaking glass noise and it abruptly stopped . A glass bowl on the fuel filter had just disintegrated . Needed replacement . We could not work without that part . Over the RFDS radio we organized a new one , it would be at K on the highway next morn on Greyhound . Two had to go in and three stay and wait . N the geo ( good friend ) me & A stayed at camp for 2 days till the return with part . We had a cake baking comp😂 , kite making comp 😂& serviced anything we could .

We were next to Savoury Creek and there were 2 watercourses . We had dug out a hole in each with the dozer . 1 was drinking water the other was washing water . I was laying in washing one with my hat on and hiding under hat . A flock of wild budgies came and I was like a rock there while they drank . Thousands of them . All of a sudden the peaceful scene turned into a deafening roar , from under the rim of my hat I saw,a hawk coming straight toward me , it did airborne u turn in front of my face inches above the water and left with one little budgie in its claws . Milliseconds for this to unfold ! Nature & desert life for these entities who live there . Colourful exciting amazing & sad all in such a tiny piece of time .❤

Another Sunday with I hope large components of happiness & humour xxxxx hugs ❤.

Nothing noteworthy today on the video in my memory . Have been going through some of the few old photos that still remain with me . Lost a whole trunk full in 1990 when a mean person put them outside where they would get wet ? That actually happened and I have asked " why " in my head many times . Still have the memories but they blur a,little over time . Sometimes a jolt of sorts will bring them back clearly .

I loved living in the harbour off fishing boat harbour in Freo ( Fremantle ) . It was,a hoot ! Used to sometimes come home in the prime mover and buy fuel at fishing boat price while no one was watching ( bit naughty 👍 was 1/2 the pump price of the day ) ! Before the developers got a foothold there,& totally trashed the place for profit it was good . We know something they don't ! If you get a cyclonic low from the right direction the the whole harbour goes under & floods with sea, water . Has only happened twice since it was originally built . I have seen it once and it is ugly !

Beautiful place to live however . Freo is lovely . Under its skin is a vibrant community of talented folk . Artists , muso's , & a thousand other disciplines . ❤❤❤ Love Freo xxxx

Yesterday , caught up with someone with whom I had lost contact for 12 years . It was so very good to have finally made contact . Have tried on and off for all those years & at last success ?

Last time we spoke they were a couple with 1 child , now a family of 6 and so much overflowing happiness . Has flicked a light on inside me and that makes me so happy for them .

Have always loved the feeling that I catch from happy loving families and they are no exception .

C is a multi talented muso & his partner ( now wife ) C is a wonderful double base player . Did photographs for them at some performances . My memories are of being squeezed into the back of a tiny hatchback and sharing what little space there was with the double bass and my camera gear . So much excitement , fun & fond memories of those crazy days . How absolutely wonderful it was,to chat & chat last night . It was so so late when I put my head down last night . Nearly turned into a pumpkin ? Oops ? ( Nana nap today perhaps )

Dampier , North West WA . The Pilbara ! Gorgeous country . Harsh ! So beautiful . Ashburton River ❤❤❤ awesome country .

Used to work for Hammersley Iron when younger , early 70's . Drove a Kombi taking train crews to and from the 7 mile that was their base . 7 mile was,a large rail yard and railway workshop . Only did Dampier crews , the yard is half way between town of Dampier & Karratha . Dampier is an island , joined to mainland by a very long causeway . It lays nw to se ! We ( 3of us were called messengers ) did 12 hr shifts , would go to homes or Single Mens Quarters and wake crews up 1 hr before pick up . Then get them on time to work later . The other end of that was crews that finished were taken home .

Pilbara nights in middle of the year are so beautiful . First light would start the caliedescope .To your right heading to town as the sky lightened all the rainbow colours . At a precise moment the day and night met directly overhead . Each side on glassy water was the mirror image of above . WOW moment . Night scene to the left & all the colour of early daylight to the right . Often the guys would like to stop and get out for a minute to soak it in . Nobody could be unmoved when given this present . Such beauty !!! ❤❤❤❤❤🌈

D&G , how are you my friend ? You have cold hands & I cold feet ! No matter what I tried yesterday I could not warm my feet . The microwave wouldn't run with door open so that was not an option ( just kidding on that , as they say on tv dont try this at home !!) .

How have you been ? I am feeling a sense of bewilderment of the masses in the air . Qld has escaped the full on lock downs so far but it seems almost certain they will come ! Meanwhile we will muddle on .

Our weather is heading into spring with pollens & randy birds and echidna's etc ? Some plants are doing weird stuff like things they do in mid winter which we all think is strange , but new normal is pretty strange ????? Lol to you and stay warm when you can xxx ❤❤❤
