It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

Hello beautiful world, I read about warmer weather, yes please. LD sharpening her teeth, what a good sport and of course wearing masks, yes please. Jo, have you seen Robert Redford in 'All is Lost' 2014, a sailing movie. The trailer is online but the movie is mind blowing, how this lone sailor pushes through challenge after thumping. A must see! (segway) Just Like the four houses my hubby took me, to drive by yesterday, his covid test is clear and he is better. As we circled a park I saw 2 people with 2 chihuahuas, so with Diva in the car I had to stop. See Chihuahuas recognize their own breed? don't ask me how? it was excellent Diva was stand offish so the dogs hung back, but Diva did not bark and act revolting. Then Diva let both strangers pat her- 45 minutes later- I got back in the car and told my husband, yes we should move here. He gets all stressed about variables when choosing and so I let him fuss. I listen even though I know factually which is the best buy and I will wait for him to finish combobulating and to ask me for conformation or my opinion. This is just how we roll, I just ran home and he has a headache, it is from stressing. His need to be right is tormenting him and all I can do is steer the boat till he gets up of the deck. Check in later, lets all go out and find magical moments

Am in awe of the way you perceive much of what comes to you and the ability to accept or wait a while to see what happens etc . The delinquent Chihuahua , she has brought so much in such a short time . Your right though they can pick their own . How cool was that to recognise that and even accept their humans , WOW !

I like your husband , always have a head full of trying to get things right and a gut full of question marks ! Still do really but since I started using procrastination as a tool that has helped .

Last century living on the big boat ( 30 tons , 50 ft long ) at gardens point in the cbd in Brisbane there was a tiny Chihuahua named Pablo on one of the boats . D the man and R the lady were Pablo's humans . All the yachties had a room for oars and little library & give & take etc . Then around corner on walkway were showers . I was one afternoon , mortified to see Pablo standing in a faceoff with a knarly looking Shepherd . Neither on leads . D was in the room . I rushed in , in a panic as could imagine the big one jerking head back to finish the swallow ? D said , just watch . He wont flinch and eyes locked on each other for several minutes while the city buzzed around them . All of a sudden the big dog broke the gaze and bolted ? D said , dont know how he does it but it works . I was so frightened for Pablo ???

So glad it is the weekend again, Hello beautiful people, LD is so cute over there making her own fun. Diva continues to unravel herself and it is never dull. Moby and her did have a faceoff but now they are symbiotic- well sort of! When Moby is eating Diva stands below him eating his crumbs. If Moby has a chew and he masticates it soft, then Diva will pretend we have a visitor/intruder so Moby gets up and Diva doubles back to get his soggy chew, yuck. Hubby and I agree on the same house, he is still producing what ifs and that is ok, I only half listen anyway. Last night at tea the local news was about animal cruelty and my shield was perforated, I gave the dogs my dinner and went out to chop wood. It seems so hypocritical to work at an abattoir and then to feel mad about someone hurting an animal. Today I am numb just waiting for my paddle boat to rebalance. The dogs are good they cling to me when I retract, it is like they want to help me. Anyhow I do hope everyone out there in the virtual life are paddling up a storm. Because the best is yet to come and we all deserve plenty. bye

Hi Amber , it is a new day with new & different fresh light . Hope that your boat has stabilized now . I don't know what it is like to work in the abattoir but years ago ( decades ) I used to take cattle & sheep into abattoirs & sometimes felt conflict ? I am not a vegetarian although I eat much less meat these days . ( good thing about getting old is I don't need as much fuel )!

Aren't little dogs so beautifully revolting ? Natures little vacuum cleaners some are . Sounds like Moby just plays his role and rolls his eyes and thinks " whatever !" .

If you move are you going from acreage to town & if so is it local town or far away ? I like your gym to , will join ! Hugs ❤❤❤

Just closed my eyes to see something to recant !

Was first half of the 80's when old me looked like a mid sized gorilla with shiny top ( been doing no comb for most of life , except mid 80's when hair got to bum ?). Was married to no1 wife .

We were a fair distance NE of Kal ( WA ) & over there were a good bit east of BF ! Gnarly little gums and patches of Salmon Gums ( my fave tree ) ( Google them ). & a good dose of spiniffex . Was operating a small vacuum drill in that gold rush. Pretty remote area on the edge of Victoria desert . So beautiful and almost untouched . Some goats and the odd camel & of course the grasshoppers ( Kangaroos ).

Drilling away , off with the fairies I was . This old bloke with a metal detector came out of the bush and tapped my shoulder . Jumped ? feet in the air I did . Stopped the drill and we chatted .

"Do you know where some gold might be found ?" he said . I said , " Nope ! Why would I be standing here on a 45° day if I did ? " " Want any water?" " Nope "

Shook his head and kept detecting ? Scratched my head and kept going . My offsider just sat under a tree with a sh-t eating grin ?

Hello kind world and marvelous people, Jo your recant, I tell you that you may have met the ghost of Harold Lasseter 1880-1931. During his life he found a reef of gold, then he lost the location and spent his life trying to again find the reef, spooky!!

My house now is on a block and I am a blockie, if we move to town, 30minutes away, I will become a townie. Husband is still weak it is his own stress, I have done all I can, if I am too nice he will be sick all the time.

Dogs are awesome how they figure it all out without words, yep Moby is like me, we give way not cause we are passive but because we can't be bothered with the fuss. Lazy like Lizards we would rather relax and soak up the sun. WHICH reminds me 15th August is put you hat on day, it is my own declaration, but from today and until 15th of May the UV is stronger. I have good skin because of sun protection measures, sure I look like a scarecrow, I have over heard such opinions. Even my old Nana used to say ' off to play cricket are ya?' but no one has deterred me. So hats on everyone and stay safe. Jo, you are easy to talk to you are a very good person.

My neighbour has made money online to help the 5 lambs, she wants to buy a llama to protect her future lambs. My husband has found an animal sanctuary in SA that will take all 5. They will always need their food blended with liquid. But we need to get the neighbour to give us 1000 dollars for their transport. They have to be transported like large dogs would be. My husband is better at negotiations he is also handsome, so lucky are some. After studying sanctuary photos, yesterday I bought 2 large yoga balls and to my surprise the lambs can play ball. After all the fun I had to go float in the bath not cause I was stressed but because I stank so bad.

Coffee & porridge for me today . A work day and didn't turn the fridge on as only away 1 night if we get a good run today and 2 if we don't . LD is curled up in the rescue orange sea rug with her knitted coat on .

Hi Amber , waiting in an industrial area that cranked up at 0245 👎 this morning . Truck ( K ) will be here at daylight unless he is naughty and moves in the dark ? Not sure which trailer he has with him as 1 can & 1 can't move after dark . We are picking up a D8 so not to big , maybe 40/45 tons and this one is 3.9 mtrs wide so pretty cruisey ! Desto is nearly 500 km and near home .

You speak of Lassiter . Telfer Gold mine in the Sandy Desert is thought to be that gold deposit . Used to run out there from time to time in the late 70's. Gets over 50° out on the Sand country going there . They put a phone line ( quite low ) along that part of the road ( about 200 ) with the wires close together . You had to carry an old army phone with rabbit ears to hook up on in case of bogging or break down . You die quickly out there in that sort of heat .

I to cant bothered with fuss . This anxiety stuff gets me though . As soon as I ditch one lot the next lot is there. One day soon I hope to master it ?

Hope the lambs get to the animal rescue place soon . They are thankful and after the trauma will be bonded with each other and you to . Be good for you to pass on the responsibility to but you will miss them .❤❤❤❤❤

Hello wonderful world, LD looks good in that safety orange blankie might be todays nominated safety office. Jo your employment is interesting. I am glad you know what you are doing, all workers need to safely end their shift.

My hubby is saving the lambs for me, he thinks I may suffer if I manually process them and I trust his opinion of me. Illogical as it is I understand or I trust him enough to agree.

Look at me making a paragraph Ha ha took me ages to cotton on it's a segway?? So cool to learn stuff.

Sunday I drove to the prospective new house and the vets is nearby and they had a sign up " Animal Handler Wanted". You are the first people I have told that I applied for that Handler job this morning. The Vet knows me so if it, is just handle animals and not customers then I guess the Vet might consider me.

I am at work today, I thought that I would work here for another 11.5yrs. There is a board above the dinning area with the names of workers that have accomplished 40yrs service. That has always been my goal to get my name on the board of Lifers.( Pride goes before a fall- stupid saying). I have no logical way to choose which is best so I will accept whatever life gives me. Apples, oranges, french bulldogs, new house, blah blah.

Yesterday just after start time not far up the North road out of town ( 45 east of here ) a wedgetail eagle flew across my path at maybe 20 feet with a whole wallaby in its talons . Food for the chick/s . Spring ??? To quick an event to film , me moving her moving but how joyful and majestic it all was in the very early morning light . Special moment ❤

Early one morning heading North to NT was on a stretch of road between Headland & Broome that was facing east west so driving into the sun , windscreen had the nights bugs and dust on ( to reduce glare of course ) and didn't see this grey Bustard which flew up and clipped the top edge of the bonnet and came straight through the windscreens on the old Kenworth . Bird was dead but what a mess . Next part of trip was like riding a Harley ?

Knew a truck owner in Broome that could help with windows so we did that . Luckily the the old Kdubs had flat glass screens so you could cut new ones from flat glass .

What a mess , took me half a day to get the old girl habitable . Many years later I discovered that a grey bustard cooked correctly in a camp oven is pretty much the very best bush tucker ever . That is another story .

Was having a recall while looking into the eternal stary sky when outside at 0400 .

Took me back to 88 just before first light in the northeastern wheat belt in WA . Fairly flat undulating country , along the road corridor were Salmon gums predominantly . We were 2 trucks ( 50 ton floats , 4x4 + 2x4 dolly + truck ) & 2 pilots .

The obligatory fire going with a boiling billy on the edge and aroma of a fist full of bacon in a pan and hissing of eggs being decimated in another .

The quiet broken by the idling horses . Both SAR Kenworths , my favourite truck . Mine was 86 build & second last to be produced of the " orginals " .

There was half an inch of ice on the bonnet ! It had been hard to peel self of the mattress and turn back 2 thick quilts . Beani on as ears were stinging before out of the bunk !

When we got going between first light & sunrise I watched the ice slowly disappear from the bonnet . The support frame ( fibreglass ) was ice free but insulation under the open areas was hard ice for more than an hour after sunrise !
