It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

That is a wonderful retelling Jo about ur dolphin encounter.

I was boogie boarding many year ago on a wave and had two dolphins come and join me on the wave, less than 2 metres away. Was brilliant and unforgettable, such beautiful creatures.

Hello to all another day in paradise, we had a BBQ courtesy of the CWA for our work lunch today. I was asked to clean up and clean up I did 14 snags left for my dogs! I wish people could be more like dolphins, so willing to be friends and so easy going. My husband is away so he sent me a pizza delivery for my dinner last night, he got the toppings exactly as I like, it was yum. On a bum note I had Dude's owner leave with me the dogs bed and a well worn piece of the owners clothing. He gave me a wool lined lumber jacket- vintage and you got it. I was throwing ball with the dogs till late last night wearing the vintage jacket to comfort/bond with Dude. So I got hot the lambs needed feeding and Dude squirreled away the jacket. This morning I went to feed the lambs and the jacket has been shredded, Dude must be really missing his owner. Have a good Friday night were ever it may be

On reflection , I sat for a moment then and a scene from past came into mind . Cave creek 300 ( approx ) north of Carnarvon WA on coastal hwy took me back to late 80's .

Used to pull road train over off the road in the flood way there . Walk better part of a a km up a little isolated hill ( maybe 300 ft elevation ) and sit in the entrance in shade of the cave . Big enough to live in it was . Only 1 bedroom . Eagles used it when had chicks . Quiet on a still day and in the predominately flat country you could see forever .Granite with a bit of iron stone low bushy scrub & lots of spinifex . South end of Pilbara . Been up there on a full moon . Unbelievability beautiful . Then back to work &onwards . Special place !!!!

Pancakes are ready , sugar & lemon juice , honey , maple syrup or raspberry jam and thick cream ?

Morning Jo. I just had a realisation. You gave me a nickname, dng. I accepted that, quite like it actually thanks. I've not had a nickname since idk, maybe the 80's. I quashed every attempt by friends to give me a nickname.

( reflections ) Just closed my eyes to see what would come to me . Not sure now which year ( mid 2000's ) I was on board "Boni" ( little boat after the big schooner "W") anchored at Blaksley's ( top end of North Stradbroke Island , Western side in Moreton Bay ) and the day was ending in total calm . The water all the way to mainland ( 6 or 7 nautical miles ) was a mirror . The galah sky , from beautiful light pinks in the west to deep greys above to night to the east . Stunningly beautiful scene .

Went ashore ( gorgeous beach with low scrubby trees behind xxx ) on the kayak with LD mk1 and a bunch of food to have a little cook up with another gypsy lost soul M . He had a beautiful aluminum french ketch "M" as well . We had a number of adventures around Moreton bay while he was there . I could write a book on M alone ?

We gathered some wood and got some glowing ashes , I brought some bacon ,potato, chilli and mushrooms . Chop all up fairly fine and do on hot plate , mmm ! M had some steaks and both of us the obligatory red château cardboard ? ( tears! , good times my very dear friend ❤❤❤ )

Got some awesome new clothes yesterday . J looks lovely in big mirror . ❤

Hello to all, I love the idea of pancakes served with a black lipstick smile. The animals are all accounted for I have left the shredded jacket in the yard, it will make explaining easier for me, if the owner sees the damage first hand. I have not worn lipstick in years. around 10yrs ago on new years eve I was glasses and sustained a gash on the rim of my inner and outer upper lip. The scar is mostly internal but the lip is buckled and on the right outer side a scar is visible. It suits me I must be a strange one because I instantly liked it, scarface you know it adds character. For years I could not eat chilli but the victims of crime payout made it all ok again. I still see the perpetrator but she is always sober these days so no one need worry. I am having peanut butter on toast with black coffee and Diva is nesting, I have my knees up in bed so Diva can be warm beneath my thighs. Sunday morning for an hour she and I have this bonding time I dare not touch her because the spell of peace will be broken. Soon I will 'release the hounds' and tend the lambs but right now with Diva is awesome and she helps me to feel wanted, if only for my warm body and soft bed, that is a big step forward, I guess she trusts me maybe a little bit and subject to Diva moods. Anyhow you wonderful colourful brave Dear posters out there are so helpful to turn to and read about, thank you for helping me to ground myself and face another amazing day.

I sat yesterday to start writing and , yes like clockwork the d--k heads across the road woke after another assault on themselves with who knows what the night before to crank up the doof doof !

Had the cranky pants on properly as can't write with that s--t going ? Got on Sooz and went to visit allies ( 120) . Couldn't stay long as was late when left home . Consequently because of time I had to get up old Sooz and think of excuses for the license munching pace while doing it .

Ride made me happy , always does !No time for a story after rant xxx apologies !!!

Hello to all and winter wishes, The abattoir makes us priority workers so I get out a lot more than some. As I am a social outsider I find the covid rules rather compatible with my lifestyle. I do see that the lockdown is hurtful to highly social people and for them I hope they can find ease. Jo it sounds like you have good food out your way or is it just your way of presenting the menu, LD must find you a hoot. It occurred to me last night that 20 years ago we were on high alert for terrorists and people were scared. Then we the world found a new normal and we got through. And 40 years ago we were confused and afraid of AIDS and this to we learnt to manage. My odd point is we are actually, a produce of nature and nature will always adapt to survive. I am not sure about a pandemic but Jo your shield of positivity will protect you always. The real problem is Doof Doof music it affects the nerves and needs to be outlawed!!! Jo your incredible, it was a good idea to distance your self from the awful noise. Good luck to you and all who sail through this cafe.

Short story : About 10 km east of Iron Knob ( Eyre Highway ) is an unofficial parking bay on top of a hill both sides . Small hills undulating country .

Early hours of the morning in early summer , with my family + kelpie x cattle dog M we were parked in our old bus on an adventure to anywhere in 1980 . Family all sleeping and breeze gently blowing through open windows cooling all .

M & I were sitting in doorway looking north to a very active electrical storm . Heavily mineralised ground , good for these storms .

Huge thick bolts grounding almost constantly . They appear red or partially red and would split into many smaller bolts near the ground . Very spectacular . Like the border incident many years later !

M & I sat quietly watching nature doing what it does , eventually M dropped her head in my lap and I watched on my own guarding my guardian angel for a while xxxx

I think it is the airs moisture and salt content that makes them red . Often this happens across the top of the Great Australian Bight with its onshore winds .
