It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

Morning All. amberlite and Jo.

Mostly I have liked the isolating effects of covid - in the physical sense, suits me just fine to not go out much, more time for writing.

I have a friend I nick named, Avalicious, who also says she liked the peace and quiet during 2020 in her bay beside the sea in SA. Dog walks by the beach or reserve a bit quieter and more peaceful.

I suppose this is like the calm before/after a storm, or perhaps like when the millions of ww2 recruits vanished from suburbia to feed that particular purpose. We are not happy, nor even ambivalent about the lost lives/living due to covid, instead contemplative of absence. What might grow in the fertility of some world % of deaths?

Just chump caught in conveyer yes my life as a sassy lady is charming I called for a fitter to check electrics are down before chump removal, I have done a lot of manly external tafe courses but it is knowledge for work and safety. So, Jo I read your concern " that positivity can exacerbate in some cases negative feelings" to be clear is that positivity can exacerbate in some cases negative feelings with in your mind Or positivity can exacerbate negative feelings triggered in others? I ask because I care. Then I draw your attention to the movie called ' A beautiful life' if you google it you will see how positivity can shield us in the worst of times, it is the eternal flame. DNG , happy day ! I see that having less people about is nice , I get that , as for economic and material gains or losses will leave that for those who are addicted ? The lives lost , I feel very deep sadness for , and the trauma in the wake of that . However fleeting that may be .

I love humanity and its complexity , but having the life I have some issues have kept me alone and isolated almost totally . Only a very small percentage has been inter acting with real live people . Even today this is my lot , I haven't had face to face with a human since 1530 Sunday . ❤ xxxx

Amber dear friend , thank you again for your words . I was thinking about what you said and not considered my negativity ? It is other folks already bearing a burden that probably has a negative component I was thinking of . Don't want to poke the bear inadvertently and worsen things for anyone .

I haven't looked up the movie yet but I will , just beginning a short book ( writing ) and it is alien to me so getting used to it . Am more at home looking at the back of a bug deflector on the end of a Kenworth bonnet , with 2 or 3 trailers swinging along happily in the mirrors behind and good puff of black from the stacks when you get up it ❤ a warm happy one for you . Like the cigarette holder , a white one ( yes !) xxxxx ❤

Hello to all aboard, yesterday I made a Freudian slip in my post I wrote ' manly external courses' when what I meant was 'MAINLY external courses'. This had me in giggles all afternoon yesterday. Then I got home and Dude the weimaraner had been collected by his owner and I was left a box of chocolates with thanks on the kitchen table. My hubby was at the pub so with one less member of my furry crew I ploughed on. Moby and I instantly missed Dude, Moby has a permapine childrens cubby house as a kennel with canvas flaps on the window and door. Moby keeps sticking his head in or out off, the window trying to locate Dude. Diva has no issue with Dudes disappearance, so I am gonna follow her lead on this one, hoping Moby joins in. D&G awesome I will give this new thread my proper attention later on today. So Jo porridge, remember that hilarious British comedy I can see LD and Diva wearing prison guard uniforms, ha! and Jo, I know that feeling not wishing to rub salt into wounds but unable to contain joy and free spirit. In that case really both parties need to pull back to balance the situation sort of, in a perfect world. Till then I know you will do what is right because you are a sincere gem. Big air kisses to all who venture into the cafe.

Hello dear friend

Sorry for my absence and I hope you are not worried, just had so very much on the past few days and also taking some time to just relax and not be on the computer so much. The cryptic situation is not going very well for me as you can imagine...lol..I may need some extra assistance in that space!

Ohh I was so very excited to read that Jo got some new clothes, what did you pick and what was your favorite? I am also interested to hear what you are thinking about lipstick if anything, see I have always wanted to wear a red lip and am somewhat hesitant as I do have strawberry blonde hair and not sure if this would look ok or not. I don't think there are any rules these days but I am still somewhat nervous as it is a very bold look, maybe I will try soon and let you know. I have already purchased one and a pencil to match, I just need to complete the circle and wear it.

Awesome that you have been able to get out and about on your bike, I am sure Sooz loves it too...lol. I am just researching the route from Melbourne to Ayres Rock as I would really love to do a driving holiday to the middle of Australia. I think my dad in interested in doing it too so we may do it together at some point when Covid allows. I am sure at my mention of this you will have an amazing recollection of a journey you have made, I would love to hear all about it.

Humanity is so very complex and the gazillions of variations in each human and from family to family and the way we live, love and simply function, it is just overwhelming really. I have just made a date with one of my favorite humans and we will do a 13 km walk on Saturday through some gorgeous Peninsula tracks and then have some lunch afterwards. It will fill my heart and the exercise will be great too. We have been friends since grade 3 so it is a special friendship indeed.

The sun is out today and makes a nice change to see the blue sky as we have just had some really gold and grey days, people are going out for walks at lunch time and seem so much more happy when the sun is out, it is lovely to see.

Not long now til my first jab so I am not sure really how to feel about this but understand it is a matter of necessity so will just go and do it and see what next!

Cake day today was a lovely lemon slice so that was an awesome friend for my chai, happy belly indeed this morning!

Hi Amber , chocolates yum ! Hugs for Moby ( and self ) to soothe his sadness ❤. I did not pick up on typo until you mentioned it . Sometimes it takes me a long time to post as I need to contemplate how and what I do or don't say . this space has taught me a lot ! For a very long time have been trying to train the mouth to stay shut till the brain catches up . Still have a bit of foot & mouth though in some circumstances ?

Prison guards , 2 little Tasie devils . Like that , could make a series of those 😂. Just had to stop pedaling to bury LD in sleeping bag at foot of bed . Is a little cottage and bedroom is off lounge , can see her from lounge . She is happy because in winter is off floor and so warm when covered up . Thank you for being here Amber xxxx ❤

A rich vibrant ( like Honda's ) candy apple red lippy ( maybe with sparkles ) . Not familiar with strawberry blonde but will chase up .

Kept all the clothes but 1 jumper that I like but is to small . Amongst clothes were 2 pairs of tight jeans . WOW how they work . Have been wanting to see how they would look and now have some and they work oh so well ❤👍.

Going to wear a pair to a LGBTQI bbq on Sunday in big town 130 east . ( my location will come up as Brisbane to ). Avatar is very recognisable ! Jeans white sneekers white long sleeved top with fine black pattern on it with a zip up grey brown hoody jacket for Sunday .

Going to make tumeric chilli sugar tamarind dash of fish sauce and black pepper potatoes for Sunday . dice to 3/4 inch size and cook in big frypan ( I use Sunbeam one ) lid on on 3 turning every 3 to 5 minutes till done . About 30 min if spuds are room temp . Can par cook but tbey will break up to much ? ❤

Only had 1 good friend at primary school & lost touch when I ran away ?

Hey Jo

Yes some time to have some r & r is often needed and sometimes not taken often enough. But I am very good at noticing now when I need a small break or to just turn off the noise of the computer, be in social media and the likes and even work emails too. It is nice to just have some silence and sit and do nothing which I need to do more of, it is actually hard but I am starting to practice it more. The penny dropped too as you may have seen xx

The lipstick is a vibrant red, yes like Candy Apple red but Matt not shiny, I think shiny may be a bit too "show girl" like....and strawberry Blonde is the colour of a blond with a hint of red, essentially when you are a red head and you don't want to be...lol

The LQBTQI BBQ sounds like it will be so fun and your outfit sounds perfect and the potatoes sound absolutely delish...yum..you are quite the wizz with these flavours I must say. I can't wait to hear how the people at the BBQ loved them! I love a BBQ and even in winter still prefer to cook a steak on the grill as it just tastes soo much better. The other thing I love to do is cut up some Zucchini and some capsicum that is covered in oil and salt and pepper and BBQ that. Then BBQ a piece of lamb backstrap that will have been coated in whatever rub I have chosen and then let it rest and slice it up, serve it piled on some cous cous, then the veg then the lamb with a dollop of Tzatziki on the top. So easy and so yummy! My kids really like this too, not too much meat and not too much veg..lol

I am in discussion atm with my son about what he wants written on the back of his YR 12 top for next year. They can put anything from a Surname to a nickname or just something silly (within reason I guess). He is really struggling to think of anything so I said what about "Just leave blank"..he seemed to have really liked that..lol

I managed yesterday too to look up a few websites of peoples recommendations for the most scenic route from Melb to Ayers Rock, so I am starting to put that together as hopefully a possible trip for next year...I so need a break and I really want to go to the NT. My friend moved to Katherine many years ago and married an aboriginal man. They have three children and due to the fact that Kakadu is native land to them they can go to so many gorges and waterfalls and rivers that we as "white folk" cannot, so I am forever in awe of the pictures and the places she goes.

Well it is time to fill my belly.

Hello to all another day in paradise, yesterday I got a clear 'used nicotine patch stuck to my forearm, transfer must have happened at the lunch table. I came over unwell and pushed myself through the day, it was like poison. Later at home I had the dropsies and at 7.30pm I found it. Today I had to report the incident and that was like double punishment because they want to know and then they always treat the worker as part of the problem, if you get what I mean, it was a hassle. SO over it just leave the bottle and find a girl some tiny dinner rolls please! BBQ Sunday Jo the outfit sounds great and a classic style of mono tones is always flattering. I am a big dag but my sister is a strawberry blonde and a bit of a self proclaimed spunk she swears by cold red lipstick, something about her piercing blue eyes, go figure?? My lip trick is to lightly outline the top lip with a white liner before powder etcetera it helps with shape and volume. Bit of a waffle today, I am so glad to read the cafe posts and I wish all who dare to win massive loads of good vibes.
