Women

A look in their eye
A touch of their hand
A smile on their lips
I don’t understand

A swish of their hair
A stamp of their brand
A tap of their toe
I don’t understand

A sniff of their nose
A lean in their stand
A prick of their ear
I don’t understand

A glare in their look
A drum of their band
A cry in their voice
I don’t understand

A shift of their knee
A shell in their sand
A-flat in their tone (sorry, couldn’t resist)
I don’t understand

A clench of their teeth
A scheme in their grand
A thought from their mind
I don’t understand

A flick of their wrist
A spice in their bland
A rub of their neck
I don’t understand

A scratch of their itch
A kink in their planned
A heave of their breast
I don’t understand

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't,
If you like to win, but you think you can't
It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can!”

Today let’s choose green, blending yellow and blue, sheltering between winter and summer, light and shade where feathered limbs dip and cascade in quiet contemplation.

Unravel the root, trace each ring of bark to its core foot by foot, wooden sculptures rich and deep, posing the question:

Why does the weeping willow weep?

Today let’s choose green: a new bud in a new tree.

The great outdoors is my domain: my heart, my breath, my home. Free from the confines of brick or stone, free to wander, free to roam: deep in the forest or on high craggy peak unfolds a world for those who seek: tranquility or beauty so closely intertwined, soothes the body, soothes the mind.

Here simplicity reigns, harmony too, thoughts flow strongly pure and true with time to ponder, time to care, time to stand and stare. Far from the hustling, bustling city that has no compassion, has no pity. Eager to trample you to the ground without a murmur, without a sound.

Yes, my heart belongs to the mountains, to the sky or the deep blue sea: soaring high like an eagle: wild and proud and free 🦅

Time is a circle: clocks turning, measuring out night and day: a relentless metronome, pinning stars to midnight, sun to noon, synchronising the milk moon rising, tugging sea from shore like a loose garment of fine black silk, slowly diffused by a muted dawn, stretching tight a second skin, containing within another blue-domed day: postponing winter, though it is merely postponement: each season inevitable, bearing witness to the passage of time.

Today I stood by a river

And it soothed my soul

Struck by its beauty

As it gently flowed

I watched it twist and wind

As rubble blocked it's path

Nothing stopped this river in its track

Sometimes its a trickle

Hardly seen at all

Then there's a stream

Or a mighty waterfall

Struck by the beauty

This river gave to me

Rest from the turbulence

So often all I see

Lifes been pushing

And shoving me around

Peace of mind

Seldom to be found

Then out of nowhere

Clearly I could see

There's a river in you

There's a river in me

Keep on flowing

Keep on going

Keep on moving

Through the struggles and the pain

Keep on going

Keep on flowing

Someone might be resting

By your river

Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn’t fail.
The same four walls and busy work were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.
I said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t doing much.
I said I didn’t care for things like diamonds, furs and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.
I couldn’t let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I’d never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.
If you’re in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Greet your future with a smile; success is there for you!

The End

Everything has an ending,

except itself, The End.

I once tried to find The End,

my friend.

But now I wish for everything, before my time gets to The End.

Caress the music,

the guitar

like a tender lover,

soother of

the soul.

Golden notes of:

wonderment,

purity,

clarity,

resound and echo

making me whole.

That's beautiful !
