I haven't written a poem for a while

i haven't written much cos I've been able to smile

but im feeling down like I did before

the little black dog is back at my door

but this time I won't tell him to go away

I'll just deal with him day by day

maybe there's a reason why he is around

to make me sit and think, keep my feet on the ground

maybe he's here to make me see

when he's not around, how good my life could be

i have much to be thankful for

I have so much to give

if I make the little black dog my friend

Maybe i could start to live

hi there, I like your poem, its say's to me that you can see the difference and that is a good platform for you to start from. like you say maybe he's here to make you sit and think? I have suffered for 60 years and I have learned to create surealties to stay alive. if a little black dog came and sat by me I would give him what every little black dog likes, a bone to chew! think about it, find him a bone and piece of what is hurting you, put it in that bone and give it to him, he will go away and chew on it and there is 1 piece less that torments you and if he comes back, give him another bone with another piece of your hurt, by giving him a bone to chew your helping him and he is helping you, that is friendship.

I hope this helps you my friend,

rok.

she sat upon that barren hill

a lonely yellow daffodil

she did not sway she did not bend

no matter what the weather sent

a lonely yellow sentinel

and then one day a seed arrived

the wind had blown it to her side

her tears of joy did gave it life

her joy that now she was a wife

not lonely now that yellow sentinel

and in the years that came and went

through rain and snow and sunshine spent

their children grew far and wide

that barren hill now yellow from side to side

the sentinel was full of pride

Hi rok

Give a dog a bone!

I have been told in the past to make him my friend but didn't quite know how.  The idea of "giving him a bone" is wonderful.

Thank you so much.

this is a song I wrote for my daughter 20 years ago she was 2 years old ad did'nt like the dark.

FAIRY LIGHT

there's a hobbit in your garden

there's a gnome upon the wishing well

there's a pixie sprinkling moondust at your feet

there's a fairy flying round your ears

she makes your fears all disappear

and shines her sparkling light so you may see

don't worry bout the goblins

they'll never be a problem

the fairy shines her light so you may see

they seem to hide inside the shadows

of the trees those weeping willows

but run away when they see you and thee

the fairy circle have their dance

and you can join their merry chant

and watch the shooting stars in fiery flight

and as they fly across the sky

you can wish for what you like

and maybe what you wish for will come true

now hark the clock has struck its gong

soon your friends will all be gone

its time for boys and girls to go to sleep

mum and dad will tuck you in

they'll kiss your cheek and grin a grin

so you can dream and join your friends again

hi "can't move forward"

you are most welcome and I hope it helps you through your dark days and you can move forward to a bright future, I don't know your story but I can feel your pain in your poems, sometimes we just need a little direction

I wish you all the best in your life's journey

This is a poem I decided to write last year:

Start each day anew
with the promise of a newfound hope
Pearls of wisdom are saved for a better time,
when the days make sense and are whole again.

The ever-present transience of life sparks a glimmer of forward motion.
She walked past the empty playground,
feeling a quiver of bizarre longing,
of wanting to revert back to an earlier, simpler time.
Is inner turmoil caused by modern living, or a psychological defence mechanism?

Everything seems multifaceted and interwoven,
as if nothing can exist peacefully, or in isolation.
Beauty contorts to fit the mould,
of some preconceived image created by the masses.

The snow-capped Blue Mountains tower above the scene
Children roam from mound to mound,
collecting objects beautiful through the scope of their young eyes.
An elderly woman lies fragilely on torn linen,
gazing out the window at the temperate scene.
Happiness is intrinsic to life, existing in many forms.
These spirited people value happiness above all desires.

An ocean away, the grand architectural masterpiece stands.
Beautiful yet lonely, its inhabitants evade humble purity,
at the expense of the ultimate beauty of life.

Life, so limitless yet limited,
in its sphere of time.

Beauty, so diverse and multifaceted,
with the promise of spontaneity.

Wonder, keeping humans hooked on life-
striving for new horizons.

Love, keeping us warm at night,
and content during the day.

Mystery, providing excitement,
with new elements to be discovered.

Hope, giving each day a new chance,
to prove to us it really exists.

Peace, restoring harmony and calm,
to people from all walks of life.

Bravery, surpassing race or creed,
bestowed upon those who earn it.

Justice, ensuring fairness reigns,
in this world of ours we call Earth.

Intelligence, inspiring the human mind
and distributed among billions

Happiness, lighting-up the minds and hearts,
of those who seek and find it.

Life, an adventure not to be missed.

The voice, so familiar yet foreign
reaches my pricked-up ears.
Melodious sounds please me mildly,
but is it enough to reconcile the night?

Emotions, swirling like beaten butter,
Rising and falling, strengthening and dying,
teetering over the cliff of consciousness.
Which thought should be entertained?

If superpowers could exist
mine would be to read the minds
and souls of others.
Would understanding life be simpler?

Gift-possessors would flourish,
be clear-headed and content
with the supreme knowledge
of human nature they possess.

Misconceptions, miscommunications,
misunderstandings, and murkiness
would transform to pure meaning.
Now wouldn’t that be nice?

Turn of the Phrase

Change, revolution and transformation
or trepidation and treachery?

Diving, frolicking, flying,
or tripping, plunging, sinking?

Talented, gifted and special,
or ordinary, bland, unremarkable?

Kind, pleasant, considerate,
or cruel, callous, uncaring?

Eager, enthused, and spirited,
or closeted, passive, resigned?

Love, passion, adoration,
or hate, disgust, aversion?

Unique, original, and new,
or inauthentic, an old imitation?

Understanding, trust, empathy,
or reservations, secrets, neglect?

Peace, harmony, contented,
or war, conflict and unrest?

At the hands of our people, our fate rests.
On the history page, the turn of the phrase.
