The Blue Room: Chill Out space

Hi everyone,

In our last member survey, there were a few suggestions for us to create a space called the Blue Room, a chill out space for sharing calming videos and sounds. So here it is!

Our forum software can't embed videos automatically yet, so if you'd like to contribute a video, just post in here with the link from Youtube and one of the mods or myself will be able to convert it for you. Also let us know why you've chosen the video and a bit about it, so people know why you find it calming.

I'll start off... with, of course, a cat video. Where would the internet be without them? This is Catcerto. The story started with Nora, a little cat who likes getting up and having a bit of a noodle at the piano. Her owner filmed it, and then someone went to the trouble of composing a whole orchestral piece around it and syncing it up with Nora's video for a live performance. Joy, cuteness, and human ingenuity. That's why I love it.

Please share your video links below.

If you ever have dreamt to feel free and dance like a ballerina. You might like the following clip of the main theme audio track from the movie "Ladies in Lavender".

what a beautiful space on the forum to stumble across... some lovely sound tracks and ideas... the giggling babies are just gorgeous!

this is a background track i put on when i get really distressed, it soothes my nerves and makes me feel safe and grounded. the title says it is study music but i think soothing is more how it works for me.

and this one is a beautiful uplifting song, with a great 80s aesthetic. I play it when i need to gather courage in doing something scary but neccessary to moving forward

Some inspiration in NAIDOC week. I learn a lot about me listening to the wisdom in the story of others. It is one of the reasons I hang around here at Beyond Blue.

Hi Everyone,

I don't know how to make images appear here from Facebook, so hopefully one of you will be able to help me.

This morning I saw the following clip and it made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy. I just wanted to jump on in to the screen o be a part of the sharing and to witness the love that was so cheerfully given to others.

The clip is :

Free Hugs Project Straight Out of LA-Hug Tha Police!

(We all know THE is not spelt with an A but in this case it was)

I really hope someone can post this clip. Thanks and cheers all from Mrs. Dools

Hi Emzykoko, welcome. It'd be best to start with the Welcome and orientation section - feel free to post an introduction in there. This thread is for people to post relaxing videos to watch.

Hi everyone. Great topic! You tube has some great videos and music uploads. I've discovered the school of life, which has some really good motivational videos on just about every topic you can think of. Here are some of my favorites: (not sure how to post here, so I've just cut n paste the links from You tube)

(self compassion)

(panic attacks)

(friendship & vulnerability)

(how to become a better person)

Absolutely love this song, I felt like I was slipping towards that dark and alone place over the last couple of days. I came across this song this very morning, and the tears kept falling and falling. Anyway if anyone listens to it, may you feel encouraged and know deep within your heart and soul that you are loved.
