The Blue Room: Chill Out space

Hi everyone,

In our last member survey, there were a few suggestions for us to create a space called the Blue Room, a chill out space for sharing calming videos and sounds. So here it is!

Our forum software can't embed videos automatically yet, so if you'd like to contribute a video, just post in here with the link from Youtube and one of the mods or myself will be able to convert it for you. Also let us know why you've chosen the video and a bit about it, so people know why you find it calming.

I'll start off... with, of course, a cat video. Where would the internet be without them? This is Catcerto. The story started with Nora, a little cat who likes getting up and having a bit of a noodle at the piano. Her owner filmed it, and then someone went to the trouble of composing a whole orchestral piece around it and syncing it up with Nora's video for a live performance. Joy, cuteness, and human ingenuity. That's why I love it.

I know this is an old thread. So I am hoping it still works the same.

I so much wanted to post this. I realise that other people may believe different to me. But truly this song is so beautiful. I found it soothing and very calming to my troubled heart. And it is helping me.

I am not sure if the video playing part is still activated here for new posts.

Thanks for sharing "Turn your eyes upon Jesus" . People may be reaching out in all kinds of places for help and inspiration right now. For those of us who have a faith in God, the words to that song are comforting.

Hey Mrs D,

It is an old thread hey.

So do you know the song? I think it is a fairly old one. However the people that are singing this version are a young family. They have 5 sons. Some of which are singing as well.

I have listened to it countless times now. I almost know it word for word.

I have been singing it whenever I start to feel fear, unsettled, troubled, panic or overwhelming sadness.

Also when I am around people that are talking about the C.. VIRUS and they are feeling anxious about it all. Well I pick up on there feelings, so I may hum the song in my head at the time. The words in the song seem so appropriate for this time in history.

Plus it is such a peaceful and calming song, especially the way this beautiful family sings it. It urges and encourages us to keep looking at Jesus.

I also went through the other posts in here and saw your post.

I watched the video with the little baby laughing at a piece of paper ripping. I love that one a lot. And love how babies can feel so much joy. Joy from the simple things in life. Priceless

Hi Shell and All reading,

We have sung that song in Church a few times. I will have a look at the specific version you have mentioned tomorrow.

There have been some really funny and clever clips on the internet about this virus.

Right now I can't think of any other chill out songs other than Christian ones and I do realise a lot of people here have other preferences.

It is wonderful we can all share our beliefs, unique appreciation and choices here.

I'm looking at the date of my registration, 2014! My goodness that seems so long ago now!

Hi Shelll

I enjoyed listening to Turn your eyes upon Jesus. It is a comfort in these times. I know the song Open the eyes of my heart. It is sung beautifully by a young boy who is blind and autistic. His name is Christopher Duffley. He also sings Lean on me which brought a tear to my eye. His story is quite inspiring and worth checking out.

I found Christopher Duffley on YouTube. He does have a beautiful voice doesn't he. I listened to a couple of songs that he sung.

I like this following duet sung by a father and his daughter. It is sung so beautifully. I love the way the father looks at his daughter with such adoration. And they have the same smile. So so beautiful.
