The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Ooh! If memory serves, you mentioned mulberries on an earlier post, it might've been that thread where we reply with a word that relates to the word before. I've never actually tried mulberries but I love fruit, so I'll give them a try sometime. Perhaps if we plant a mulberry tree here in the Café as you've suggested, we can have them regularly!
Mandarins are fantastic, and so are capsicums. Roasted capsicums especially, divine when paired with sour cream.

Good evening everyone,
Hi Mekitty. Mega Multidimensional Salad Mix sounds like salad mountains in those all-you-can-eat restaurants. I like those fruitful salads with sauce! I may be an uptight person but I'm partial to simpler salads rather than trendy ones. Have anyone tried something like mussel salad with yogurt, chickpeas and croutons? Hmm, not for me! 😁
Hi EM, your chickens know how to eat and what not to waste! All capsicums go to the compost with those dried pizza bases! 😂
Hi sbella02, I'd like some dragonfruits, they are not very common. I would mix them with prune or lime juice in the blender, tasty 😊

Hi OTR,
After making my salad & eating, it felt like I'd had a mountain inside me! I don't use 'exoic' ingredients. If I put everything, I have into the one salad, I don't have to decide what to include & exclude, because everything goes in, no ifs buts or maybes. I like capsicum, but finding them samll, unless I want to pay more for baby capsicum, makes it difficult. Some things don't keep very well when part has been removed.
That's the hardest part of buying fresh for a single person household - finding portions I can use without ending up wasting half because I can't eat it fast enough, or paying more per kilo price for the small quantities. That irks me.
After I went to bed, for a moment I thought, I should have mentioned Dragon Fruit - like guava, with the tiny seeds, like crunching insects, but that tickles my funny bone... but I found I can't eat much or I get tummy trouble. After some google research, I froze small pieces of it, so I had only a few at a time.
What do you think of Custard Apple?
What about Durian? Anyone ever had that?
OTR, what is the sauce you have on your fruit salad? Maybe that's how I would like melon fruit more, if I had a sauce for it.

Hi Everyone,
It's been a while... I have been reading here but haven't had the energy to reply, but today I baked again. This time a coffee pecan slice with everything else thrown in to make it interesting.
mmMekitty, Durian? I haven't tried it myself however my daughter was offered some once and she described it as a mix of smelly rotting onions and fermenting garbage. Interesting that some Hotels in Asia have banned it. It apparently leaves an awful lingering stench. The texture is quite slimy as well. It's a acquired taste.
The weather here this week is sunny and spring like. The weekend was just horrendous so I am planning to do some more gardening this Thursday, thanks to our extended long weekend.
I am sure most of us caught the Funeral of the century. Couldn't escape it if I tried. I received a call from a tele marketing person as the funeral was about to start and I joked that I couldn't speak right now as I was at my Grandma's funeral. He apologised and hung up. I had a little giggle...
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and hope your football team does well. I am going to get some nice pies this weekend.

I didn't sit & watch her funeral - all the ceremony & such, not with how the media go over & over every detail they can put to air to fill the ours, no, I wasn't doing that. But I have seen bits this morning & couldn't help but wonder what it was like for the children singing in the choir at such an important event. I can imagine they were told it was the most important event of their lives, & every note better be perfect. Indeed every aspect just had to be perfect, eh?
Love the buses idea, rather than all the big cars taking a few people at a time, & the drivers for each, as well. Buses seem like a much better idea. I was sure no one ought to have complained, because surely these would have been luxury buses, with good seats, etc.I can only hope they could open the windows for fresh air to circulate. Alas, it seems some did & refused to get on board.
Cereal & fruit again, no coffee again, (I gave in & had one yesterday), & it' okay, I think I can get used to this. Now the weather is warmer, I will have months where I don't think something hot in the morning is necessary. Sure, I can still enjoy a hot breakfast, if I want, but usuakky don't until it's brunch.

i watched most of her funeral, not all of it though. i thought it was a nice send off even though it was all planned. everything with the music, marching, pallbearers etc was timed well. and how they made the horses bow, that was sweet. it's quite sad she's gone & there probably won't be another monarch like her & a monarch that served so long.

Good evening everyone...🌃
Hi Mekitty, I can totally resonate with you on buying groceries for a single person. I live with other people but we buy and use separately for most of the stuff. Despite my effort to plan it well, I always waste that little bit almost every time. But I'm comfortable with it and I don't wanna pay too much attention to this. Sometimes I do wish I have my chickens to help me with some leftovers as EM did.😊
Yes, dragon fruit can trigger tummyache if we eat too many, I think most fruits are like this, grapes, cherries, etc. I had some stories about this lol. I don't recall if I tried custard apple but I did have durian, they are not my favourite fruits. ppl make them into several kinds of desserts including durian sorbets which are very popular.
I have kewpie mayonnaise for sweeter fruits and sour plum sauce (different from those for Chinese cooking) for sour fruits. It's difficult to find this rare sour plum sauce lol 😂

Tayla I didn't see the horses bow... that must have been nice to see... I did see that at Windsor castle they brought out her favourite pony & two of her dogs to watch her pass which was sweet...
The Brits do pomp & ceremony better than most don't they.
