The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

Feeling bit miserable this morning so but spend sone time on a couch, need to find a dvd to watch also.  Had another Covid booster yesterday afternoon, arm started getting sore early evening and still is sore.

Grandy, dinner last night smelt lovely. Had to pass though due to GI issues.

my decision to retire from work was a semi snap decision, decision I don’t regret though.  I worked in industry that helped people plus am a total animal lover, started looking for voluntary work that would either involve working with animals and/or helping people.  Couple different volunteer jobs I enquired about needed police check which meant I needed to apply for new full birth certificate …. Too much mucking around for few hours a week of voluntary work.  Started working with local cat rescue group who rescue street and stray cats, get them used to people and adopted. Not long after starting with them I became foster carer for the same rescue group which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.  Due to getting my house ready for sale and having it listed for sale I’ve taken some time away from all involvement with the rescue group.  
retirement is great.  More time with my own 2 cats and being able to fairly much do what I want when I want.  One of my girl friends has MECFS, with me no longer working its given us more flexibility for making plans to go places together 

dvd found, pillow and blanket organised for couple hrs of couch time … better grab some snacks first though.   Patches

I haven’t thought of camp fires for years. So many great memories.  I used to be involved in group similar to guides that was run through local church.  1to 2 hour car trips, usually with up to 4 teenage girls in my car, music on and lots of singing.  Sleeping in tents …. walks through the bush land ….. campfires and singalongs in the evenings around the campfires, the smoke drifting in different directions, watching it rise and curl into the cold night air.  Was decades ago, at my age not sure I’d want to do exact same things again.  Memories of friendships formed and some that exist today.  It’s amazing how a mention of something can recall lost memories of years ago. There has been an ongoing problem with changing the profile pictures. I'd like to do that too, from time to time, just temporarily, but it hasn't worked for months.

I can't stay long tonight, so I'll come by again soon.

In between watching dvds and snoozing I’ve made some gluten free chocolate muffins with dark chocolate pieces for anyone to enjoy for late night nibbles.

Time to collect my 2 out of their hidey spots and crawl into bed.

anyone seen a glimpse of either small black cat or big ginger and white?  Once they get to know everyone my girl Luna will come for lots of pats and smooches.

Hello Everyone,

Dark chocolate, yummy, especially the Toblerone one…I have tried gluten free cakes but umm..not wanting to make anyone feel bad..to me they just aren’t the same as gluten cakes, biscuits etc…I am really grateful that I’m okay eating gluten…

Friday night…yay…Jukebox, bonfire, dancing..I’m ready….I brought in loads of honey chicken with some rice…some gelato Ice cream, tiramisu, pistachios, cashews, walnuts and Brazil nuts to snack on while sit we around the bonfire…

Awe your cats sounds so cute, I do hope they learn to trust us….I am always up for fur or feathered cuddles….animals have a way of soothing our souls….One of my dog hides behind the lounge when she hears thunder..poor little fur girl…It’s hard to comfort them when they’re scared…😢..

Okay I’ll go first and put on…You Light Up My Life……by Debby Boone · 1977…because that’s what you all do for me….You Light up my Life…..by being the beautiful caring people you are…...

Grandy, it’s like having 3 year old twins being around my 2 cats.  They can be quite entertaining to watch and then very quickly are rough playing on the rug or chasing each other around the place.  They love curling up in lap on blanket …. Treats are magic.  They can spend hours laying in the sun watching the birds and the world outside. My boy is unpredictable if will come and say hello.  My girl is a torte and makes the cutest little squeaks and chirpy noises.  Once she gets herself comfy on someone lap you will happily stay for hours.  Yes Luna, I’m talking about you, never mind looking so innocent

will be back soon with fish, chips, potato cakes, dim sims and sauces.

If I’m not back in time can some please put “Wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong on.  Love the tone of his voice and is lovely reminder of the wonderful world we have to enjoy

Hey, Patches, you sure that's not me? [LRC looks out quizzically] I am a 7kilo ginger & white puddy, as you can see in my picture. Me & Sunny have been wondering if we could fool you or anyone ... did we?

I don't suppose you've noticed my purple collar (not seen in the photo). I wear (wore) it all the time. I learned to get about without the bell ringing.

Ain't it great that here in BB Cafe we can eat all we want, even the dark chocolate chip chocolate muffins the vet would normally keep away from us?! 

& fish, chips, dim sims & honey chicken with (thanks Grandy) rice, gelato Ice cream, tiramisu, pistachios, cashews, walnuts & Brazil nuts for dessert? 

Or whichever we get hold of first.  Or just one big vat ... that will suit this cat. [LRC grins from ear to ear]

mmMekitty reminds me, we already had dinner of pasta, with fried onion, capsicum sausage pieces, pineapple pieces, a little diced tomato & cheese bowl. mmMekitty doesn't have a name for this dish. A variation is to swap the pasta for a pizza base... that's yummy, too. 

We like a bit of trombone, please... goes with the meow so well.

I. LRC, am not a lap cat, but I like to have someone stroking my fur while I purr.

I think all us cats will get along very well.

Em26 has asked me to tell everyone around the campfire, that Em26 is taking break for rest & self-care. I am assured there is nothing to be concerned about & Em26 will be returning after a couple months.

LRC you are beautiful !! SB ( Sunny Boy) is probably best described as white with ginger markings, most distinctive being one that looks like man’s bow tie on right side and love heart on left side.  SB has blue collars that get changed due to him wearing them out.  LRC, not careful Luna will try to permanently borrow your purple collar.  She has her own purple collar but that won’t stop her.  She’s mischievous and bit naughty at times.  I rescued SB and Luna few years ago when they were kittens and we spend fair amount of time together, especially since I retired and became their personal slave.  (2 pair of eyes slowly look my way trying to appear innocent).  Our favourite after dinner routine is curled up together on the couch with a blanket.  They are my best mates, my companions, great pair of hot water bottles and best non medication when I’m not feeling well
