The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi Yggy, yes I understand you wont be around much now.  Thats okay.  Just a quick post every now and then would be good though.  Just to let us know how you're going.

I dont envy you with your CBT therapy commencing.  It is an exhausting process.  Are you doing it once per week for a block of appointments?  You are tackling quite a lot with working full time as well.

I'll be thinking of you.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I am having trouble writing here at the moment , it seems by brain has a hard time switching from reality to the imaginary or something. But I just wanted to send you all some real love today.

Hello everyone!

its hotdog day tomorrow for lunches. Not super healthy but very tasty. I will make some side salads to go with them. U will just need a microwave to heat up the Frankfurt.

Hope everyones work is going well. I've still got a bit more time up my sleeve before I go back. Looking forward to it though - love my job but don't love all the politics and carry on...yucko. So lunches will still be made for a week or so yet. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I took mocha and latte to the vet today. Mocha was desexed and Latte had her vaccinations. Both are back in the cafe tonight recovering. Can someone please check on Mocha later on as it has knocked her around? I gave them both a very special dinner. No more 'surprise' kittens for us :-).

Im a bit tired tonight so going to head home early. I'll lock up. Will drop lunch in early tomorrow.

nighty night all

Morning all

Thanks for taking care of the kitties KT, you are very kind. And lunch again! I love this.

I'm glad you love your job. That must make things easier. I don't hate my job, but it's just a job ... counting down to retirement, sadly that's still at least six years away. I care about the people there though. Too much sometimes.

I'm sooo tired. I guess that's to be expected now I can't have my nanna nap of an afternoon. Could you or someone else still on holidays have one for me today? Thanks.

Better get moving.

Love to all.

Hi Kaz, KT, Shell, Yggy, TMB, and anyone else who happens along.

Thanks for the update Kaz.  I'm glad work sounds like it has settled down a little to how things were at the end of the year.  It is true that 'time heals'.  You never think it will at the time, but in fact it does.  I know that from when my little 11 yo niece died in a car crash last August.  I am now starting to think of all the good memories of her, rather than the awful circumstances of her sudden death.  6 years to retirement - that must make you a similar age as me (56)?  Sorry you are feeling so tired, not much I can do for you there.  But I will have a nanna nap for you this afternoon.  I hope you feel it!

KT thanks for the egg and mayo sanga yesterday.  It was really good.  Always so nice and refreshing I find.  And as I worked f orm 9.30am until 2pm yesterday, it was good that I had lunch with me.  Because I never know how long I'll be at work, its hard to cater.  And there are no nearby shops I can just walk over to.  Oh and arent you such a responsible and thoughtful cafe citizen?  I never even thought of getting Mocha desexed!  Good move.  But it does mean there will be no more little Latte's.  So we will remain a 2-cat cafe from now on.  Unless Shelley finds some other poor starving stray at our door in the future.  If so, thats fine too Shell.

Shelley Anne I hope your brain is back on top of things again.  We need you.............

Yggy, I hope you are coping as best as possible with your therapy and being back at work full time again.  Thanks for dropping in yesterday to let us know you were as okay as possible.

Catch you all later hopefully.

Hi All,

It's still raining, flooding near where I live. Roads are closed and the local supermarket's car park is half submerged! Hope everyone is safe.

I missed coming in yesterday, was having probs with the bike but all fixed now.

Hey KT, I am saying hello to the cats too, Mocha and Latte, after their ordeal. Hotdogs? I love hotdogs! and side salads too, we are getting spoiled!

Hi Sherie, you're right about me not needing an umbrella, maybe for jousting eh? Thanks for the tip for hanging the helmet though. Meanwhile, in cricket land, I see Chris Gayle got himself into a little hot water with a female reporter...I must say I am finding the Big Bash easy to watch and very entertaining but I have lost track with what's happening In the Test match.

Well, I'm going to put my feet up, make myself a drink and relax for a while. It's too wet to go for a ride. I know, I'll have a listen to some music from the BB Cafe library...here's one "The Rain Song" by Led Zep. Sounds appropriate.

All the best to everyone, Kaz, Shelley and others.

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd try bit harder and get myself out-I'll just get myself a coffee and pull a comfy chair up out the back and reflect on what's been going on in my head!!!

STS xx

Oh hi there Wayne.  Great to see you again.  Its been a while!  Do hope everything is on the improve for you.  If you are here for the test cricket, then no luck.  I have vacated my reserved sofa for the past 2 days, as not one ball has been bowled for the past 2 days.  And I think only about 11 overs for day 2.  So essentially a washout for the Sydney test.  I would be most displeased if I had tickets to the match.

Hope that coffee is okay, as I'm pulling up a chair with my chai latte and going to keep you company.  Dont feel you have to talk though.  Its okay just to sit in silence if thats what you'd prefer.  And I totally understand, as thats what I often like to do.  But if you want to talk about anything, then I'm here.  Lucy, your sheep, the weather, your house building progress, life in a container, whatever!

TMB - where I am on mid north coast there are no floods, as we seem to be a bit further north of the major rain. Not far away though, so we were a bit lucky.  Lovely and cool though!  Oh and regarding Chris Gayle - I think its a storm in a teacup.  Not sure why everyone has made such a fuss of it.  Mel is a very attractive young woman, and I think Chris Gayle was perhaps a little silly, but definitely not offensive.  I think I will put some different music on though if you dont mind.   How about  "Singing in the rain", by Gene Kelly?  A bit less loud then Led Zepelin.  Much nicer for a bit of Cafe lounge music.

Sherie x

Hi Sherie,

Yes, the lower temps are nice. It has stopped raining here for now but nearby is well under water. Have been watching it on the news. I think Chris Gayle was just being himself but his behaviour may have been not good for the reporter or some viewers. Sorry about my choice of music. The "Rain Song" is actually quite mellow but really not appropriate for the cafe lounge. "Singing in the rain" is much better. Trying to think of other "Rain" songs. e.g. "I can't stand the rain"? etc. Have a good night.
