The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi all,
Yes. Physical exertion is the best.i find gardening the best. Ispent a week cleaning up my garden over my break from work & I felt physically exhausted but great. It is therapeutic & I achieved something I haven't had time to do for a long time. I also jump on my exercise bike for 20 mins in the morning now as I'm too tired after work. It's a good start to my day. When I had anxiety ladt week I rode gor longer as didn't want to stop due to thr nervous energy.

Good morning all,
You have given me some great ideas and inspiration.
I have moved my cross trainer / exercise bike right next to my desk. I can now jump on and off during the day as I feel the need. Making exercise easy and convenient is vital for me.
1 step closer now.
Have a great day lovely people. Fiatlux 🙏🏼

Oh Paul,
I get that you may be disappointed about not being able to get your Australian flag at Woolies and yes I have in the past purchased some and even put them on the grave sites for my dad and my Aussie obsessed Uncle, both who were born in Central Europe I will add but loved this Country.
Out of respect, there are some things that shouldn’t be made using a Nations flag. I only this week saw, the Aussie Flag Mankini being sold online, along with Tim Tams and Vegemite in Aussie Care Packs which are usually sent overseas. I have used this website in the past to send goodies to family overseas, but the Mankini or even bikini is going too far in my humble opinion. 🇦🇺 🙏🏼

Hello CMF, Fiatlux, Paul & everyone
I like the gardening, CMF, which, when done for the day, you can also see what you've achieved as well as that feeling of accomplishment you have. Feeling fatigued because you have been physically active is also a good feeling, I have found.
Fiatlux, I like the idea of having your exercise bike/cross trainer next to your computer, so you can jump on periodically throughout the day.
When exercising at home, the convenience of having a shower in the next room is a bonus!
& Paul, I pasted the text from the transcript directly without editing. I'm sorry you don't like the big block of text.
I have a plastic flag, on a plastic stick, & I wonder if flags such as these are recyclable.
Hugzies everyone

Good morning BB Cafe friends,
I am up early for a Sunday and having coffee outside.
I did some gardening yesterday, mostly weeding down one side of the yard where the pergola is and where my outdoor lounge area is. It’s amazing how much better it looks. I will tackle the other side soon.
We had a drainage system installed just before Christmas as it appears that our down pipes were never connected to the stormwater system in the street, so our block was flooding frequently. The house built 18 years ago when we had no rain for many years. The flooding only became evident in the last few years and it was time to get it investigated and fixed. Unfortunately the garden now needs fixing up as they left only weeds behind. I was hoping to get it landscaped but this may not be possible.
Today is much cooler and ideal weather for walking and gardening. I may walk to a local nursery and buy a new plant and then walk back and plant it. This will be my exercise quota for Sunday.
mmMekitty, the plastic flag or plastic anything is not great but most of it is made in a factory overseas. My son in law found it difficult to find Aussie souvenirs that were appropriately made in Australia. Even boomerangs, we found were not authentic. We did however find genuine ones that were made by Indigenous artists. These he proudly displayed at home in the USA. 🙏🏼

It's got too hot here for cooking again, so please enjoy the salad - it was relatively quick & easy, with lettuce, carrot, beetroot, capsicum, tomato & cheese. I expect tomorrow I'll be having the same, as it's supposed to be even hotter.
Fortunately, I am going for my hydrotherapy tomorrow. That will help.
I continue to hope I will one day have a place, where I can try the gardening again. Not where I live now, though, the spaces for gardens are awful, mostly because of the neighbours dropping rubbish in them, along the paths, on the lawn, in the carpark - well, everywhare. I had some rubbish removed from near my back stairs, & it still smells terrible out there.
I like seeing how things grow, from seeds or seedlings all the way through to maturity.
I hope you, Fiatlux, can have the downpipe properly connected to the stormwater drain, soon. If the wet weather continues, you may end up with a boggy swamp - yuk!
Oh, yes, of-course, so many 'souvenirs' are made overseas. I am well-aware of that, too.

Good afternoon BB cafe friends,
I have been reading through my journals from 2019 onwards and found some interesting things that I have written or read and kept.
This quote I keep reading over and over… “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds”. - Albert Einstein
Have a lovely afternoon and evening. Fiatlux 🙏🏼

Hello everyone….🤗,
I like that quote Fiatlux..
I have had a craving the last few days…maybe a week or two for smoked cod and vegies…I know not everyone’s cup of tea*. but I did bring some in for those that do like it…and of course lemon juice to sprinkle on top…A quick cook and healthy meal as well…
I used to love gardening so much until Oestio arthritic decided to visit my spine, hips and fingers and moved in to my bones for good😢…now I can only do little bit, every so often…I do have lots of different varieties of succulents in all different types of teapots, little bowls and fancy looking small pots…which really look beautiful on my front and back veranda railings and tables…
mmMeKitty, I’m sorry that you’re having rubbish thrown around all over the place..that’s just so wrong…..Traveling to and from work, is a beautiful drive, lots of trees, hills, paddocks, livestock etc… unfortunately *entitled* people think it’s okay to throw out the window, maccas bags, Kentucky bags, drink cans, paper, garbage bags, I even saw a a lot of dirty nappies spread out over the side of the road….it’s really sad that people can’t take these items of rubbish home and dispose of them their….
My son bought me Tia Maria for Christmas, been enjoying having it in a small liquor glass on the rocks….every so often….Wonder what it would taste like sprinkled over vanilla ice cream?
Enjoy your night the best you can…
Love, care and hugs everyone..💜🌈🤗,
Grandy..

Hello Grandy, Fiatlux & everyone
Smoked cod sounds great to me - so good, I'll also have the vegies!
& if you are willing to fork out for some ice cream, why not try a little Tia Maria on it? Ice cream is getting so expensive, too - like so many things...
I'll have my hot cross buns, (yes, I gave in & bought some chocolate chip ones), with custard, (gave in & bought some of that, too.)
I just have to let them melt, which means I froze them in my freezer. Freezing custard is not ideal, but it is rather like an icy-creamy ice block until it melts. I divided it up into small containers, to ensure I don't eat it all at once.
*
I like the quote too.
*
Lovely swim today, for hydrotherapy. If only I could stay all day.
*
Hugzies

Good morning Dear BB cafe friends,
It has been a busy morning but it’s time for a break. Just finished breakfast of smoked salmon on rye will dill and lots of fresh rocket this time.
Grandy, I don’t think I have ever had smoked cod, but I have heard that it’s delicious. I remember my Dad always talking about the good old fishing weekends when he would catch Murray Cod. Maybe I have eaten Murray Cod when I was younger but just thought of it as white fish.
I looked up smoked cod and found that it is available at Woolies and only $15 per kilo. And I say only as that is cheap compared with other smoked fish. It’s a product of South Africa. What’s interesting is that it’s advertised as Smoked Cod Fillets yet ingredients listed as Raw Smoked Hake. I don’t know if they are the same fish?
After watching an Aldi add on repeat I looked up Smoked Herring Paste and found that online. The silly things I do to keep myself entertained. It’s a Jamaican thing. Apparently their national dish.
As we all know Australia has its day this Friday and I promised my son a Trifle. I am going to make small individual ones, I have decided. This way I can still make trifle and portion control them. It also hopefully won’t turn into cake sludge by the next day. I am on sugar free clean diet till then.
mmMekitty, the hydro pool sounds wonderful. I used to take my Dad to a centre for therapy following a knee replacement. I was so tempted to get in with him. Our pool at home has a few jets, but they no longer have any real power. I can’t blame you for not wanting to get out.
You have also reminded me to Not eat all the custard I bought either. I will have none left by Friday.
Have a lovely day Dear Friends. Fiatlux 🙏🏼
