The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi Paul - more than likely. Usually I don't pay attention to who the actors are. It's the plot, or in this case, the variation on the movie version of the Dickens book, A Christmas Carol. I enjoy seeing the different versions which have been made over the years. I have also enjoyed listening to different readings of the original book. It's the MUppets' version that tickled me every time, but now I want a version of that with some audio description, too, or I might have to decide on promoting another favourite to the top of the list.

I’ve been catch up on what’s been happening with everyone.
if it’s just heavy rain my 2 cats are on guard, ready to run and couldn’t get any closer to me if they tried. Within the last couple of weeks on a hot 38degree day area where I live lost all power from approx 3pm to 9pm. Drapes were already closed but was so hot and no breeze anywhere. SB settled himself on the scratching post and went to sleep for most of the time. LG didn’t know what to do with herself and paced from one room to another. About 8pm the rain started, it was only light and helped bring the temperature down. All 3 of us enjoyed the slight breeze coming through the partly open sliding door.
since moving I find I enjoy listening to rain and find it calming. Sitting in the lounge room I enjoy looking out the sliding doors as the rain falls on the tiled outdoor area. I don’t like thunder and lightning really scares me. Thank goodness for thermal lined drapes. Like a little kid, what I can’t see can’t hurt me. Thunder or lightning send both SB and LG running for safety, under the bed.
I don’t mind watching The Grouch at Christmas time. Enjoy watching Ice Age Christmas like I’m a little kid again

Hello Patches, great to see you this afternoon/evening.
The sound of light rain is such a pleasure. I particularly like the smell as it begins to rain. Then, I enjoy how it seems to make my impression of the world outside much wider & as if it is a tree-filled forest, not very dense, but I don't imagine the buildings out there. I can close my eyes to what I can see in my bedroom & imagine being outside, in a tent, sans insects! Nope, nothing biting or stinging me while i rest in my tent. When the rain is light the birds all seem to celebrate. It's like its' something special & they very much appreciate the gentle rain. I love hearing them chattering & singing away so seemingly merrily.

I haven’t dropped into BB cafe for awhile as haven’t felt like company. Been staying at home and letting my anger, feelings of hurt and frustration out on moving furniture, making up new flat pack storage units and spending time in the garden.
I have garden patch under front windows which is nice size without being too big. Also have 2 narrow beds each side of my drive way. Due to mix of different reasons the plants that were there I’ve dug up and have started preparing the beds for new plants. Clay …. Even in this weather the fork is quickly going into wet, boggy clay … yuk! Soil around the BB cafe is 150% better than what I’ve got. On my back fence I have 5 metal trellis which were there when I moved in, 2 with white star jasmine had been planted in front of them and other 3 had potato creeper on them, potato creeper that I’ve since removed.
today I’ve started to set out plants along back fence as I want them. Different size and shape pots will be planted with dahlias, dianthus and calibrachoa with 3 star jasmine in between growing on the trellis.
All this talk of plants has me thinking might spend some time next month in BB cafe gardens trimming the plants and, maybe putting in some new ones. Maybe some nice flowering climbers on some arch trellis amidst some of the walking paths
havent felt much like cooking recently, and couldn’t have done such a great job. Couple filled sponges in the fridge for anyone to enjoy, one vanilla and other chocolate. Both decorated including Christmas trees in milk and dark chocolate plus flavoured frozen yoghurt. Both look too good to be eaten 😊

Patches, it's great you have an outlet for your feelings - physical activity can often be what's needed. You also have new storage units & can see the work you've done in your garden.
Indeed. You can grow anything you like here. The soil is wondrful. The birds are very understanding about not eating the newly planted seeds & all the other animals won't dig any holes either. Even me. I promise ...
Except about the cake... nothing looks too good for me to eat! Wen you consider the other option for me is to lay down in the cake, to treat it as my own summer bed (having been cooled in the fridge), then wouldn't it be better to simply let me eat them? 😹
I like trellises too. Great for climbing vines & cats alike. I'll get right up on top & meow to everyone passing below. 😺

Hello everyone.
I have been thinking lately, the character counter is working better again. Today I posted a reply which very nearly approached the 2500-character (with spaces) limit & didn't have a problem, as I may have done - who knows, a while ago. I have been trying to keep the posts shorter, imposing a 2400 maximum upon myself because it has been frustrating to have to edit more than I like. So, I wonder if anyone else has noticed any problems when wanting to post long replies?
If not - Thank You, Project Team or Santa .... 😸

P.S. My apologies if this is the wrong place for this question, but I wasn't sure where better to ask everyone.
