The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay

I’m loving these temperatures and this sunshine.  This is my type of weather, maybe not as cold at night though.

part of this afternoon I’ve been outside soaking up the sun whilst mowing the lawn.  Got majority of one side of driveway done before mower battery needed to be recharged.  Have moved everything I had already packed into moving boxes.  Next couple days going to be mix of rest and boxing as much as possible of the things left, not that there is much to go now.  3weeks time will be in my new home. Handyman organised for morning of 2nd day to put up brackets and tracks for window coverings plus to put together 2 pieces of flat pack furniture.  Get some groceries thst afternoon before bringing my fur babies home.  Current plans spending following couple days just to me and the cats

Well done, Patches. You are so organised. When the battery is charged, & you want a break to do something else, there is the rest of the mowing.  I think it's good to be methodical about the packing, remembering to label boxes so you know what's in them. Even so, moving can be stressful, so a couple days with just yu & the cats sounds perfect.

Today was pretty good here too.

I got to go to the beach - but where we went the beach didn't look too good, like, a bit soggy, so I wasn't confident about walking on the sand, thinking I'll get bogged.

We went for a walk alongside, following a wide footpath, only stopping to check out what public exercise equipment was available along the way.

I also stopped &, with a little help from my support worker, I took a few photos on my phone, of some sea gulls.

All up, we walked for around 4kms, & it didn't take as long as I thought it might. When we go this trip again, I'd like to walk further, just to see how far this footpath beside the beach is.

There is also a wading pool, but it was a little cool for having a dip. But in summer, there may be too many kids. We'll see.

Later we had lunch, at a seemingly popular place. Good food but those ibis & pigeons were hanging around trying to snatch food. There was a sign, telling diners not to feed them, but if food fell onto the floor, then the birds could try to get at it anyway.

Despite that I prefer eating outside.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather, wherever you are.

mmMekitty, as I read your description of your walk today I could imagine myself being there.

It reminded me of a long walking track that runs along the edge of the bay where I live.  Part of the track is on top of cliffs and allows great view down to the water.  Rest of the track is close to the waters edge.  At irregular intervals beside the track is a bollard painted to represent someone or something connected to the town.  Local artist used Timbers and piles from an old demolished pier.  Adds an extra interest when walking the track.

& today, I was walking along a curvy footpath through gardens atop a mountain. Admittedly, not a very big mountain, but it is called 'Mount ____' (not disclosing exact whereabouts), with lots of variety of colour, texture & perfume, with birds, bees (apparently non-stinging native bees), birds, including bush turkeys, & some lizards, too, my support saw & I tried to photograph.

I'm going to do some editing of the photos, & on my big screen, maybe see what I photographed!

Oh, there were a few statues & a waterfall & a stream, too ... too much to explore in a single afternoon. It really is quite fantastic.

I have been enjoying these afternoons out in different locations away from my little unit. I hope to discover more wonderful places to visit. I think, though, I might try taking my lunch with me, & save some money buying lunch each time we go out. It seems rare to get lunch under $20 unless I'm buying 'junk food', which I am trying very hard to not buy.

Hugzies everyone

Hey Hey MK OTR Patches and everyone especially New Posters who are always super welcome too....😀

3AW Melbourne (talkback radio) actually played a track from the new Rolling Stones (the strolling bones) album and it was really good. The name of the track was called "Angry" yet it is excellent 👍

Its a shame that Crowded House decided not to do the entertainment at the Grand Final yet KISS will do an exemplary job of entertaining the crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground

Great comment on the Rolling Stones new album MK 🙂

I hope everyone is doing okay

my kindest always

Since Monday this week things have been almost non stop.  Conveyancer has advised settlement for my current home booked for 9:30am 3 October.  Furniture removalists booked to arrive my current home mid morning on 2 October with furniture to all be placed in garage at my new home late afternoon and me staying overnight at a friends place that night.  Local op shop staff coming to pick up few items I couldn’t sell and that they will accept.  Bookings made for tall, heavy, corner tv unit to be picked up and disposed of mid next week and house cleaner for late next week.

yesterday spent majority of day either taking items to storage unit or moving everything I need to move into garage.  Leg muscles weren’t too bad until I stopped 6ish last night for dinner. 9ish feel asleep on the couch for few hrs before going to bed.  Been up this morning since 7ish and am running on healthy stress.  So looking forward to Sunday 8 October, first day after my move when can start to relax

Hi Patches. It's all happening, eh?!!

I'm not surprised you fell asleep in front of the tv. All that work must be exhausting.

Have a cuppa, Patches, & don't worry if you fal asleep in the BB Cafe - we'll lift you gently & put you into a comfy bean bag. If the weather is old, we have blankets for you, too.

Dear mmMekitty.....sorry I've been "away" for so long.  How are you? I am eating squares of a sort of Oreo chocolate...white chocolate with little brown choc chips through it...delicious!  I've hardly seen any chocolates in the Cafe over the years, I wonder why.  I am going through a chocolate phase.  I wonder about that too.  Theres so much to wonder about in this world it is hardly worth bothering to start.

Weather here in my part of Qld is getting warmer now and the rest of the country is starting daylight saving now....poor things.  Thank Goodness we don't have to contend with that! we have enough to contend with thanks with our Nanny Queen Anna.  Don't ever let her in here for morning tea with us....she'd ruin our fun!!

Hello everyone, especially to new members/visitors to BB Caft.

Ah, Moon ... good to see you here, but best you hang on tight to the chocolate. The reason there is rarely any chocolate to be found in the BB Cafe is that it is so quickly eaten. Even Nanny Queen Anna isn't fast enough to get away with the chocolate around here... besides, I'll set her up in the Recurring Garden of rapidly Recurring Blooms. she can munch like a lawnmower out there & before she finishes o at the far end, more flowers will have already blossomed at the start.

Me? I'm okay. Thank you for asking. I'm continuing to exercise & eat well - hence why you have some chocolate for long enough to describe. Hydrotherapy was cancelled Monday so I had an extra gym workout instead. My PDr has been away, but I could talk to him again today. He filled out a form I've been trying to get finalised for two months, because of a misunderstanding. Now it's done, & so next it needs to go to NDIS. Had a few rough moments, but I am able to calm myself better than I used to, so it was okay much sooner than might have the case even a year ago. Sometimes I think I am simply tired of reacting to everything, so my reactions aren't as intense anymore??? That's something to wonder about, eh?

I rather like daylight savings & wish I had it so the sun would rise at a later time, & not at nearly 4:30 am at Xmas ... way too early to be getting up, even if someone gives me prezzies to open.

So sorry, it's late now, & time for this mmMekitty/LRC to be either heading to bed/going out to stir up the fish in the pond out yonder .... Night fishing is eerie & exciting. Is there a moon up there tonight?

Hello everyone…..🤗..

I am not a fan of daylight savings…it makes my day seem hotter and longer, getting to bed at an early time to get up early for my volunteer job always seems to be a hard task for me, plus my fur girls don’t understand daylight savings, 😂😂They stick to there regular time wanting food at the same time 6pm….which is going to be 5pm now…..

I brought in a huge pile of hot buttered crumpets for breakfast…I like mine with a slice of cheese mostly, but also like peanut butter and honey on them…I brought along so many different types of Jams, honey, peanut butter, cheese spreads…I remember my mum had anchovy paste on them…not liking that one though….

Im off to the bigger town today for my cardio appointment..it’s cold winds blowing here today, cold in the shade and warm in the sun….especially nice sitting in my car parked in the sunshine…

Enjoy your day everyone…

Grandy🤗.
