The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay

Happy spring everyone.
daffodils have been flowering in July august.

What will spring do .

Hi quirky & everyone

I think, Spring is the season for most cultures, if not all, of hope, birth & rebirth, & brings optimism & the promise of life & the future & well-being of the society. It follows the Winter, when the nights were longer & colder, when (in historical times), when the people lived off whatever was stored from earlier harvests & gathered. Times might be very harsh indeed in some regions, so Spring brings the promise of warmth & an easier life.We can once again enjoy more light & warmth, find getting about easier, & once again, (historically), see more of our neighbours again.

I think many of us have a cultural memory of how things were in earlier times.

I wonder if there are actually more Spingtime festivals & celebrations, than any other season-related activities, as I tend to think? Is my hunch right?

Lovely day yesterday which has caught up with me today so having quiet relaxing day today, the sun shinning through my back windows.

some might say is old fashion but I think tiebacks for drapes, especially tiebacks that have a tassel.  Couple months ago I enquired at one specific local store who told me they had none in stock and that there was no in the warehouse but that one of the stores approx 90 minute drive away had quite a few.  Whether that day must have been fairly good as remember doing the drive only to find out when I got there that the second store had none in stock either.  I was not happy. Long story short, staff member placed an order for me.  Mid last week received phone call to advise the ordered items were in store.  Yesterday had very nice drive 90 minute drive in the sunshine to collect my items after which I realised I was very close to the large lake in the town.  Turning onto the road that runs around the lake on my right hand side laying on some grass we’re 4 adult black swans, their black feathers glistening in the sunshine.  Parked my car and went and sat on a bench where I could look onto the lake and watched other swans in the distance on the water.  So relaxing I could have gone to sleep.  Finally got home, had been away for just over 4hours

Ooooh I love swans, that would've been amazing Patches.

I'm so excited for some warmer weather in spring (hopefully) as it's been a bit too freezing here recently. Halloween's the only spring-related event I can think of at the moment lol (mmMekitty), but I adore Halloween because you get to dress up.

Does anyone else like Halloween? Or dressing up in costumes in general?

Hi Patches, SBella & everyone

Patches, how wonderful, & fortunate the day turned out for you. You were there at the right time!

I admit I don't fiddle around with tassels & things, just sometimes I lift my curtain up over the back of my big recliner chair, & let more light in, & hopefully some breeze as well. My flat is not very good at allowing breeze in & I'm nearly out of direct sunlight into my front windwo. I feel a little sad each year, watching the sun leaving my window, wishing I could have more, but I know, in the hotter months it is just as well I won't be getting the sun, except into my bathroom window in the afternoon, some. It does get very hot out the back, then.

There's not much to look at here, anyway, even if I could see more like I used to. I would like to hear a greater variety of birds, though, just not my neighbours.

I rested today, too. My back was aching so I thought to rest & went to sleep for two hours - just like a cat! I barely lay down & was sleeping.

Hey Hey everyone! New members/posters are always welcome to say hello too 😀

The Beyond Blue Cafe isn't a club. It's a super friendly place where everyone is welcome!

Beyond Blue Update : KISS have been confirmed to perform at this year's AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Whether or not we are footy fans isnt really important. Having a professional band from the United States that can play to 100,000 people is a huge bonus.

* NB...Crowded House (the band) cancelled their agreement to perform a few months ago

kindest always

Hi Pau. It's always a pleasure to see you.

For my 2 cents worth, I think there are Australian bands, contemporary bands, too, who could easily entertain a crowded MCC.

I'll leave it to younger people nominate bands they know.

Thankyou Kitty

It's always great to have your opinion

Good day everyone, How's everything going?

Pretty busy recently...  Moving houses...moving jobs...

How have you been Kitty, Paul? 😊

Hello OTR, Paul & everyone

Another lovely Spring day here, so I thought I'd have some pastries. I put very small pieces of chicken, capsicum & spinach from frozen on the pastry, then topped with cheese, & into the oven. Smells so good when cooking.

OTR, with lots of changes you are making, I hope you are keeping well, eating well, sleeping well, etcetera. Change of any sort can be stressful, so take care to make time to unwind & care for yourself.

Paul, I just heard this morning, the Rolling Stones are releasing a new album, new songs, new drummer, & from the clips they played on tele, they still have the Rolling Stones 'sound'. Mick's voice still sounds good as it has ever been too. I think they could fill the MCC.

Your thoughts? Thoughts from anyone, please?

You know what is odd, Paul & OTR, for some reason, in my motifications only your name showed up. It's happened a few times before, & I thought it was a little glitch. But why does it only seem to effect notifications for you two? I'm so curious, now.
