The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

mmMekitty,

I'm mildly lactose intolerant, so I get all my milkshakes with lactose free milk. Coconut milk is fantastic in a shake, so is soy milk... can't say I've ever had almond milk in a shake, but in a hot chocolate it's amazing, gives it a nutty flavour. Highly recommend.

I'll join you in relaxing into a hammock as well, perhaps if somebody knows guitar we can have a jamming session around the fire? Any song recommendations, anybody?

I'll take some of those strawberries too Grandy, and I'll join you in making the most of that sprinkler. The heat is wearing me out!

Love hearing from you all as usual. SB x

Ah, slippery, sudsy tunnel & bubbles sprinkler, with icy bits! [LRC & mmMekitten & mmMekitty too are all rolling around, getting fur all frothy & squeakier clean than ever thought possible, laughing & grinning so much it hurts!]

Gladly, in my imagination, we can indulge in chocolate with cherries ice cream, in large chocolate covered cones. mmMekitten, LRC & I are not needing spoons! But we may need another wash in the bubble sprinkler, after.

& I & my inner kitties will enjoy breaking open a huge watermelon & squabbling over the pieces.

Then SB, how about old busker standards like 'American Pie' & 'Me an Bobby McGee'? & then rounds of 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat',

& then, SB, if you will partner me, we can sing 'These Boots Were Made for Walking' a very fun song to sing. & then, everyone sings 'Raindrops Are Falling on My Head'.

How does that sound?

Then we can all get dizzy & fall down on the squishy wet lawn... & look for falling stars or is that a satalite, or an asteroid? Or a UFO - my, what must they think of us?

Hugzies everyone

mmMekitty.

Oh, & somehow, mmMekitty is making some sort of pasta with a bolognaise-type sauce, using fresh ingredients, including 4-star mince. There'll be heaps for everyone!

Another really good song, except for it being a little not PC, is Johnny Cash's song Jackson. I prefer Johnny Cash's & Junes carter's version. I think they give it more 'salt' than Lee Hazelwood & Nancy Sinatra.

I've been singing that one a lot lately. I even googled the words to be sure of a couple words.

What other songs do you, (everyone), like to casually, group sing, at parties, around campfires, while out camping, on the water, working or playing with others, or if only in your imagination?

Rainbow sprinkles all over everything! They are all edible too! It's raining rainbows - on the cupcakes, on the ice cream, on the donuts, on the popcorn, on the mmMarshmallows, & on the pancakes & waffles in the morning, on the sandwiches & toasties for lunch!

& I'm singing the old 'anthem' "I am what I am"!

That's a song for everyone. [LRC spins with forelegs wide to include every one of you]

BB had a float in the GLBTQIA+ Mardi Gras Parade!

I have been trying to watch it tonight, on TV, & it was a thrill to hear that BB was there.

It was very difficult to even look at my tele - those lights were so bright. & the noise muct be phenomenal to hear, whether in the crowd or on a float or even in neighbouring streets half a dozen blocks away!

Wow!

I'm not staying up all night to party ... but if anyone is, rembeber to drink plenty of water & cool down occasionally.

mmMekitty, DID WE??! I didn't even know! I'll have a little Google search later to find it. How exciting!

Perhaps in honour of pride, I'll distribute rainbow donuts for our BB Café goers today. I'll throw on some of those rainbow sprinkles too, mmMekitty.

Hi SB, thanks for the Pride Donuts!

It sure was a surprise - why didn't BB tell Us?!

I know there are lots of things on if you live in Sydney, so just google Sydney World Pride 2023 & you can find out more.

I've yet to look, but it's possible ABC will have the parade & the Opening concert on iView. They have already broadcast these a few times since last Friday night.

I have thought how great it would be to be there amongst the crowd, enjoying the parade, , but for all the noise & glary bright lights everywhere!

I'd have like the art shows, discussion events, like the one addressing human rights. I don't know if I will have an opportunity to hear that on radio, tele, or online. I suspect I will at least get to hear it online somewhere.

So, SB, take a break from study & have a dance with me. Do you have a song you would enjoy - I'm sure it's on the juke box.

Hi there mmMekitty

Would you call yourself a cook or a chef?

In life I've learnt that been a cook is just someone following the instructions but a chef is someone knowing how to bring it altogether and making it a great feast. One of my greatest challenge is to not just follow the crowd but live my life with all the resources to make it full of flavor. Plenty of water, yes, not to many cuppa chinos but these days I actually have decaf now. My body doesn't like to much caffeine now, more veges and Hydrotherapy, looking much better. 😉

Say is that a space invader machine?

Cheers

Hi SB

Pool can be a complex game, ok enough of  that, so how long have you been coming here for SB?

I am kind of bit lost in what to say next but I'll give it ago. I like this environment were we can hang out and not be judged but be ourselves in a world full of body imager and what the latest social platform that says if your not cool then.....oh I'm sorry too much talking. How are those pancakes going? My wife has won gold with me with her banana and oatmeal pancakes. So which ones the black ball?? Oh it looks like I've got myself trapped again, this pool game needs redoing! Sorry getting a little frustrated with it, I'm very competitive, love a challenge. I think I better quite while I'm ahead 🙄

Hi BigB, - have we met before? If not, welcome to the forums!

I heard you over there playing Space Invaders, & that you are competitive ... I'm very unlikely to be of any competition for you in either of those - it's an eyesight thing.

As for if I call myself a cook or a chef, I usually say "I'm hungry" & mix up some ingredients as I have in my flat, to make a salad or just a heap of veges with some potato, pasta or rice, & maybe some meat. I always cook my onion, even for the salads.

I tend to want so many ingredients my meals become too big.

Lucky here, there is usually someone to share with.

Tonight, my salad included some tabouli I bought this afternoon. It also had lettuce, onion, capsicum, beetroot, beans, feta cheese, tomato, olives, & I cooked the onion in a little lemon infused olive oil & some stock powder, which I let sit in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cooking, & that goes on the salad as a dressing too.

Since it was big enough by then, I didn't make any potatos, pasta, rice or meat.

That, I suppose, means I'm a cook, by your definitoion, because I don't weigh or measure anything. I don't even check how full the spoon of stock powder is before adding that to my sliced onion, 'cause I don't want to stick my fingers in it.

If you don't mind winning very easily, I'll be happy to play a round of pool with you.

Hugzies,

mmMekitty
