The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hey everyone reading & hanging out in the BB Cafe tonight, what's for dinner?
New posters always welcome to chime in!
And JUST because you think we're all OLD in here, we're not! Paul might be acting his age but I refuse to lol.
ANY AGE is welcome to join in!
Hey Paul, ughhh replacing sleepers on a steep block, I would offer to help but fortunately I can't lol.
That's NOT fun work.
Come on man, BRUSH TURKEYS. An Australian wildlife bird.
Similar looking (but not as well) to a Turkey you would think of, black feathers, red dangly things from their necks, HUGE claws on their feet. Australian ones not as stout as those. NOT for eating! They are a protected species.
Mostly found on the East Coast of Oz I believe.
The babies are awfully cute!
Strange behaviours being birds, though. They travel alone through life, not in pairs or flocks.
SO when their babies hatch they're on their own! Really dangerous for the little darlings. (Sometimes the babies pretend to be one of my chickens and get away with it for a while too! lol so cute seeing them snuggle up to a hen to sleep awww).
Papa Brush Turkeys look after the HUGE mounds of earth they collect to make a nest. They poke their beaks in to sense the temperature, constantly, for months.
Too hot, scrape more scrub off.
Too cold, scrape more scrub ON.
The Mama lays her eggs and racks off!
Ahhh I'm coming back as a Brush Turkey in MY garden lol.
Nature lesson over. Food now!
Love EMxxxx

😺Oh look - our own BelEMy!
I made salad from the lettuce bushes BelEMy was hiding in, & dug up & grated some carrots & beetroot & potato (lightly fried potato to cook), added tuna with a tangy tomato & onion savoury sauce, added some gherkin relish & forgot the cheese! It was still a rather nice salad, even without the cheese.
Futsal? Too rainy, I suspect. Wonder if there is an online Futsal video game?
😀Love the "Hi-ho, hi-ho!" too.
Paul, I imagine ther is a lot of satisfatcion to be gained from building things, like the sleeper wall, having it last 30 years, & you, able to happily rebuild. Waarms my heart.
Hugzies anyone?

EM & mmMekitty,
Turkeys are adorable. Animals in general are adorable to me, and deeply fascinating. Please feel free to give some more nature lessons, I love hearing little facts like that!
It's true, any age is welcome here. I'm in my early twenties.
Salad sounds divine, mmMekitty. A tangy tomato & onion sauce sounds irresistible.
Tonight for dinner at the BB café I'd like to bring pasta, one of my all-time favourite dishes. It's so diverse. Penne with Bolognese, or for our vegan café attendees I've got some lovely penne with pesto. Bellissima!

Sbella! I'll take a NY style CHEESE, pepperoni, mushroom pizza please. YUM.
I want to share my pizza all over the place stories but I'll hold back. Gotta make dinner before I start chomping down on my laptop lol.
Kitty I'll take a hug! Bring it in sister!
Re: Brush Turkeys, lots of people call them BUSH Turkeys but I'm a stickler & call them their name lol.
Their nests are massive MOUNDS made with literally TONS of earth scraped together in a conical shape.
The ONE in our back yard is around 5 metres wide and around 2-3 metres high at the moment. Papa Brush Turkey works from just after dawn all day till night fall, only taking a break to eat some scraps I throw him or fight off other Turkeys.
Once we had 4 nests, that was overload lol.
One year I'd put sugar cane mulch in my garden beds only to wake up next morning and thought OMG CROP CIRCLES! I was STUNNED for hours! Till I saw a Papa BT come & scrape the mulch round & round lol.... no aliens just TURKEYS! hahaha.
Oh dear, the HI HO HI HO was super sarcastic lol, sorry Walt, because I've had the week from deep Hell at work. Had to be super crafty in how I dealt with stupid people lol.
I did.
Went super well.
So life's been more like Marvel than Disney hahaha.... wishing & hoping for a Fairy Tale but hey we're getting there.
Love EM

Ah, thanks 'BelEMy'. I'v so thrilled you have presented us with the fact that Bush Turkeys make the famed crop circles - even if it turns out Bush Turkeys have been 👾 aliens all along. Then I might suspect they have little space ships hidden in those mounds they tend so carefully.
I made more salad today, thinking it would be quicker than other options, but no, still took half an hour
😺Pizza All Over The Place Stories - sounds like a book! I hope we will hear at least one, EM.

Hey everyone, New posters are always welcome too,
I'll have Subway thanks Paul!
Do you guys know WHERE most of my children work? hahaha our freezers are FULL of KFC.
I invented a mean chicken lasagne recipe made from KFC because of the leftovers lol.
I'll complain when all the kids leave there lol.
Kitty NO ALIENS PLEASE! hahaha.
One pizza story?
I'll have to check the details with BF before I report back. (I think it was in Utah? BF will remember lol).
Could be a book lol.
Funny you say that... BF and I intend on publishing his mum's IDK 1000 recipes, she was an incredible cook.
He had an Italian mom and has a German dad. Growing up in California right near Mexico, BF had the most eclectic home food menus of anyone I've ever known. Thankfully his culinary skills match!
Late FUTSAL report... a few out injured still.
Only lost by 7 last game, they're really happy with their improvements!
Talk about "glass half full" outlook, RIGHT ON KIDDOS!
Pretty cool how they're showing their own kids how to react to losing all the time lol.
What's everyone reading, watching or doing this weekend?
Looks like rain here.... again. Dare not complain tho!
Love EMxxxx
