The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Sure peeps! New members are always welcome to post, as always, ALWAYS very welcome to chime in!
OH PAWS your style was AWESOME! Love that recycled tyres were used too lol.
I got into that style al little later... must've taken a while to travel UP to NSW :-))
tealflowers, you can add anything and everything, any time. :-))
Belated WELCOME to Oz Kitty! Do you remember what you were wearing on the looooong trip across?
I'd arrived around a decade before. From a very HOT country, I'd never needed even a cardigan lol so I couldn't stand wearing anything more than the bare essentials.... took forever for me to realise what WINTER meant!
I was born in Winter but it was probably around 40C, drippingly humid.
Kitty, mullets HAVE made a come back and I legitimately don't like them! Hahaha. Thank goodness none of my close family like them either! My friend AND her husband had mullets on their WEDDING DAY and the portrait hangs proudly in their entry way.... woah... I would take that baby down pronto lol.
Each to their own ofcourse.
Well you young chickens, we'll end up STAYING in the 70s unless we get more chattering in the Cafe. Can't wait for the 80s music and 80s hairstyles to come back in the Cafe lol.
We've currently got the Carpenters playing. I remember my dad playing them on repeat each morning as he got ready for work and the long commute.
FOOD you say?
I remember FONDUES being ever so popular in the 70s. Having to chop a million pieces of fruit for my Nana's chocolate fondue. I thought the chocolate wrecked the fruit lol. Then she had brown sugar and CREAM to dip the chocolate covered fruit! What next I thought?
Happy eating and grooving along!
Love EM

Funny thing is I feel a little warmer before sunrise than I do after, even at 9am, I ws thinking I was freezing again.
My sleep has been awful since i was a teenager. When I was very young, I couldn't sleep in a lit room, daytime, & used to fake my naps so they'd let me up again. & at night, I enjoyed the quiet, &listening very carefully for whatever tiny sounds I might hear. I used to think, if I concentrated like that I would be able to hear more than I usually could, which was normal. So I guess I wanted to have 'supernormal' hearing,😸as well as the vulcan's pointy ears.
Thanks for the welcome, EM. 😺 & Welcome to yourself, & anyone else who has come to this country, whether when you were young, or as an adult, & anything in between, welcome to you, too.
I don't remember what I was wearing, some daggy kids' clothes, but maybe not what we could wear when out playing - but maybe not Sunday best either.
I wanted to look out the window, especially when the plane went in & out of some light cloud.
Big family, so little time each could have at the window seat.

Good rainy morning everyone chatting along in the BB Cafe!
We're up to the year 1971! I realise so many readers haven't even been born yet in 1971 lol... you Spring chickens!
You're always welcome to join in the convo and take it anywhere you wish to.
Soccer is cancelled today ☹️, the kiddies were looking forward to their very last match of the season. Not sure if they'll get to make up this game. Probably not!
Our Council has been running their services flat out all year, checking grounds, closing fields, opening others to more games, having those grounds smashed with players and spectators, closing them next!
Wash rinse repeat.
SO MUCH rain!
The water tanks are filling right back up again yay!
Kitty apparently it is warmer JUST before sunrise than just after, on average. Just after sunrise can be the coldest part of the day, why?
I don't know! Hahaha, that's why I have KIDS, to ask them for explanations of the most difficult concepts in this wonderful world lol. When they're patient enough, their mama actually learns alot!
Rescue poodle has his grooming appointment this morning, so get ready to be STUNNED by his beauty tonight! He thinks he's SO beautiful when he leaves. He prances around up on his hind legs too, trying to show everyone how good he looks lol.
We're off to a restaurant way up North today... ughh don't like the prospect of driving on the freeway in the rain, but it's the kids' end of soccer season celebration. Gotta attend.
What's everyone up to today?

Hey Everyone and new posters too
Hi ecomama...you are a super mum....and your kids have a super mama
Driving on the freeway when its pouring with rain can be a pain. I drive a Ford XR8 and its a heavy vehicle yet in in heavy rain it be interesting especially when I accelerate...Thank goodness for traction control 😀
Victoria is having a few warm days this coming week...and looking forward to spending some quality time laying some new sleepers in my front yard
I hope everyone is having the best weekend they can
Hugs always

Aw geez thanks BG Paul! You're very sweet. Indeed! New posters always welcome to chime in!
Well, I followed my instincts, with the rain PELTING down today + the possibility we'd get flooded in, again.
I pulled the plug on driving 1hour North, "Nope not doing it". Rescheduled for next weekend.
Fortunately we did this. A major collision occurred and it took over 3 hours to clear it, right on the Freeway we'd have been on, right at that time.
Phew. 99th life? lol. Here to write another day lol!
Smashed out heaps of work at home for my gruelling work week ahead.
Uber driving's looking real good.
I'd need a much smaller car though lol! The gas for mine would take up all the earnings.
Still, she's a beast so no one tries to be silly around her... usually.
APPARENTLY there's a soccer comp running all through Summer. HELP! hahaha.
I'm DETERMINED to hit the beach more this Summer with my SUV packed with make shift "camping" gear.
Watching these YT clips on Stealth Camping looks fantastic to me.
Gotta laugh, all the kids are home from work and most of them have bought their OWN TVs + contraptions to play online games together between their bedrooms lol. SO funny listening to them call out to each other from their rooms, or on their phones whilst playing and trying to beat their friends' teams.
They work together AND play together like a well oiled machine I say. Noice.
See you all soon!

Good evening EM and Paul, how were the weekends? 😊
Safety is a priority EM, you made the right decision, it's no fun to have a long drive in the pouring rain.
Camping in summer is something I'm expecting to do as well, just need some companies and an SUV extra 😂
Have u ever tried playing online games with your kids? I'm not sure but some kids would be surprised while some kids would hate it if parents stepped in 😊
Paul, enjoy your time in your front yard, may it take several days to get them done? I don't know, the longest tasks that I've done in the front yard is mulching 😂
Have a good week everyone
Hugs,
On The Road

Good morning BB Cafe goers, New posters always welcome to chime in!
A quiet peaceful morning, I'm UP before the birds lol and thought "what if I go around and wake THEM up this morning?" lol..
Alarm set for 5am but was up at 4, getting to work extra early today and tomorrow. Gotta sort some stuff.
Decaf with cream is ordered.
I'm taking 3 thermos cups to work, yeah the hard stuff lol.
Cheese toasties ready to make at work.
Lunches packed.
My weekend? It was WET! so much rain, quite stormy, windy.
Calm today.
LOTS of self-care required in preparation for a HUGE work week.
Hey OTR lol, No. Online games, NOT my thing. I've been persuaded to play them with the grandkiddies a few times lol.
Not my own children, their games are next level.
Gardening is my thing. Cooking, that kind of stuff.
How did you go with the front garden Paul?
We can't mulch anywhere in our garden, the Brush Turkeys say "thanks mama! More scrub for our nests" then they scratch the yard to pieces scraping everything down to their 6ft high nests.
Soon we'll see little bubba Brush Turkeys running around, they're so darned cute.
Off to feed the chickens!
Then hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go. 😄
Have a WONDERFUL day today everyone,
Love EMxxxx
