The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ... 

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Hello BBers, how's everyone doing today?

What was the weather doing at 5am this morning?? I walked on to my balcony and WHOOSH a huge breath of very warm air! 
It's AUGUST... weird. Nice though lol. 

I'm home again today and tomorrow, hence me visiting as many Threads on the forums as I can while I have time. 

It's been nice spending extra time with my chickens and pets. 
I've been clearing out stuff and THAT'S an eye opener lol. 
Charity bins will be full of our stuff very soon which is awesome if people can use the stuff. 

Does anyone else make use of Freecycle?
I used to love our local one in the past but it's moved to FB so yeah... not sure now. 
I love the Principles of Freecycle and it sure helped US in our lean times.

Hi & thanks Em, for asking.

Bronion needs a new bottle/container. I had found I had a taller bottle & the roots are already touching the bottom again. Now I have a 500g coffee jar, cleared of all remaining morsels of coffeee granules. I will have to make a hole in some more braille paper, so Bronion does not fall in. Or maybe a small yoghurt tub, with a hole I might make in that? That's a little bowl-shaped tub, with a wider lip, but the bowl widens too much for the tub to sit level with the lip. It may be too precarious.

I will have to make do for now. My community/social helper being away for a month means I won't get out as I'd like in order to look for a better solution.

A couple of the green leaves/sems, (not sure which) are longer than the length of my hand from wrist to middle fingertip.

I'm tempted to try to draw a smiley face on the bulb, on the brown papery skin, even though I keep it thoroughly shaded, & nobody would see anyway... I already imagine it is there, so I feel I want to try to give Bronion a face. I have a big black permanant marker, which looked purple last time I tried to use it (on a rock). At least that would look pretty - messy, but pretty. Good enough for me! 😺

For now, I don't want to get into any threads/Discussion I have not previously posted in. I't's enough that I can't read &/or post with those threads/Discussions I am most familiar with. Maybe when this place settles, igets some thing to be sorted, sorted, I will. I'm not sure right now.

Weather here today was BEAUTIFUL. Sunny but not too hot, breezy but not windy. Nice temps. Sweet day overall. 

Nice food on offer today. LEMON CAKE made with lemons from our tree and eggs from our chickens.

I woke to rain at 3:30am, slept again until 8am, but was tired again by lunchtime... & again this afternoon ... & so I am this evening, too.

Hi Em & all. Sorry I dropped in earlier & fell asleep under the pool table. Good thing there is a puffy bean bag under there, eh? 😸I may be back soon, so please, don't move it.

How the Futsal kids doing? Do they have training between games? As much as I would be happy if they are having fun, without the win being essential to that end, I also hope they will have some wins. 😺

I was possibly the most unsporty person when I was a little mmMekitten, & still am now I am a big mmMekitty.

I really was the one no-one wanted on their team, & had been left out, un-selected but for a single occasion when the class had a substitute teacher & they wanted to stir her up. Having really poor hand-eye co-ordination meant, with me serving the volleyball, the game could not get going, nor continue when the ball was sent my way. It really was a farce.

Then she suspected a student was mimicking her accent. Not true, the girl really was from Scotland. I felt so foolish out there, even trying & missing as we all knew I would, wouldn't be fun forever. & it didn't mean I would be wanted any more than before in the future. But I did have some fun that morning, enjoying it while it lasted. No one won; the game never actually finished, & it didn't actually matter if the idea was that we were outdoors & moving.

I'm only sorry now, we didn't think of how our fooling around might affect the substitute teacher, & her desire to teach.

I had a lovely 'Tiramisu' Cake slice the other day. It really wasn't an 'authentic' Tiramisu with layers of pastry, with cream, almonds, chocolate & coffee, as I had expected. Missing pastry, but the two 1.5cm layers of cake were light & fluffy, the cream sweet & had coffee-chocolate topping, but no almond slivers either... I do like to know what I'll get when I order something that has a name like 'Tiramisu'. I might call it a 'Coffee Cream Dream Cake' instead.

I soon got over my criticism when I took a bite. 😺So I have brought some in for everyone tonight.

I'll take a slice of lemon cake please, that sounds lovely. I've brought hot chocolates if anyone wants any, I'll leave them on the table. There are several that are lactose free, for all my fellow Zymil-drinkers.

Good morning sbella, & everyone. 😸

About the most interesting event for me this week, will be my appointments tomorrow, at the hospital, with the physiotherapist & a post-surgical follow-up appointment. I suppose I will be required to wear a shield when I tell them I can't wear a mask while within the hospital. Realistically, my face is not required during both appointments and while we walk through the building. 😼Oh how exciting! - nott!

My helper asks for Zymil when ordering milkshakes or coffee at cafes, & sometimes, when they do, she will continue to be a customer of theirs. It's not available every cafe or restaurant, but I suspect becoming more widely available.

Good Morning All,

It's Banana Bread for me. I baked it myself and will be eating it all week, I think. It's a little dry. I usually add a nice oil, either walnut or macadamia but had run out. My son gifted me some Apricot Kernel Oil which was delicious in baking but that bottle was empty too. I used MCT Coconut oil but not enough of it. I like banana bread with walnuts. So I can tell myself its healthy I add Linseeds, Chia Seeds, Almonds, Walnuts and dry Berries and bake with Coconut flour.

It's all good, washed down with my morning coffee. I rarely get Zymil due to the price, but always get Lactose Free milk, generic brand will do. 

I have found that I have become more and more gluten and lactose intolerant as I have gotten older. 

I am working from home and watching the ducks in the swimming pool. They come every year to nest. One of them was very distressed this morning and honking away until the other one arrived. Although it was a cold morning the swimming pool must be nice. Last winter the water was foul. Turned a nasty green. I love the ducks but the mess they make is awful. We can't use chemicals now until the ducklings hatch and they leave in Spring.
