The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Good evening, OTR, & everyone. 😺
My appointments at the hospital were sort of as expected. The Physio was more helpful & more informative than the Doctor. He seemed to not think it necessary to fully explain what he was thinking & why & how of getting the genetics test he said was standard now. I didn't know that - since when? What do they do with the data? He was really uninformative. The only thing he did say was that my circumstances were unusal. I didn't think my circumstances were so unusal - nobody had said anything like that before. Anyway, nothing is happening soon.

I don't know much about lactose free or any products for people who are lactose intolerant, so I don't know if Zymil is the best or not. Just that my helper uses it & likes it. I'm not even sure why she uses it, if she is lactose intolerant or not, really. I know a little about her healt, but not details. She has not said she is lactose intolerant.
I've only noticed various products, while shopping online for my groceries, & how much more the products which offer some health/illness related benefit & those labeled 'organic' all are so expensive.
As is often quoted: if in doubt see your doctor... 😺& that's not me. I'm just a Little Red Cat, commenting here & there.

Hey Em, how'd the Futsal go tonight? Blame me if they didn't win - my mind was not on the ball!
Warmly, to all

Hi Fialux! 😺I just turned around & like magic, there you are!
I'd like some of the banana bread, please. It sounds really good with all the seeds & the nuts & fruit, & made withcoconut flour - I haven't tried coconut flou before.
So long as ingredients were not previously frozen, you could freeze slices of your banana bread, wrapped, in a container. That way you could pace yourself, maybe. 😸
Warmly,
💖💖💖💖

mmMekitty, glad to hear that your week has been going well except for the uninformative doctor, that's not so good. How's the rest of your week been?
I know a little bit about lactose free products as I'm lactose intolerant, and Zymil seems to be the front runner for me, along with soy milk. Both delicious in my opinion. Lactose free cheese however, I've really struggled to find a good brand that does it justice.
Fiatlux, I'll definitely have some of that banana bread, I haven't had any in years. I remember the first time I discovered banana bread, I was on a family holiday in Noosa, QLD and my mum and I walked down to the shops before breakfast. I was captivated to say the least.

Public holiday here yesterday, so I didn't have an appointment with my PDr. It's tough when he's away.
Today I didn't go anywhere, because my community helpeer is having this whole month away with her hubby.
But I did have someone phone from state housing, the contractor to do a little repair on my back door security screen & the kitchen cabinet door... so that's something.
I'm still feeling freezing unless I'm warming my place with the heater or baking. What will my next electricity bill be?
Now there's a show on tele I want to watch. I thought it was last night, but no, tonight. (just as well it wasn't last Tuesday, eh?)
Tomorrow, the Podiatrist will be here in the morning.
See, I'm really boring unless I am allowed to use my imagination & just make stuff up.
What've you been up to, SB? Bet you are not so boring as me.

HEY EVERYONE! Nice to see more people in the BB Cafe! Even tho I love to see all the fab regulars too...
gosh BG Paul, taking it UP a notch! lol New poster/members are welcome to post too! Endeavouring to keep up lol.
Oh yeah! banana bread is our family "go to" when finances get tough. Or any time for fun.
Eggs from our chickens, Bananas from our banana grasses (yeah apparently these trees are actually GRASS! crazy hey?).
Sure I've baked some with coconut flour for Kitty, gluten free for those peeps, lactose free for sbella and friends.
Calorie free for all lol!
BRING ON FRIDAY! Even tho I have the Dentist on Saturday (hmm yuck lol). Gotta be done.
Oh sweet Kitty! We would never blame you for the kids' FUTSAL teams performance... UNLESS they win. Then we can attribute that to YOU! hahaha..
Well they're suffering from a lot of injuries. One OUT with a twisted ankle, so many corks and bruises.
They DID score 2 goals this week! Only lost by 15 lol!
They all decided that some training is necessary, so that's a thang to organise with such busy bees.
Tonight that happened.
AND we all had to sign up for Alexa's Psych Thesis study. It's AMAZING. She always said her extremely dysfunctional family would make awesome studies lol! She did mean US (no truly she didn't) but all the fam we're done with.
All good! Wish me luck in the study lol.

Hi Em & everyone,
Do Futsal players have any protective gear? Sounds more rough than I'd be comfortable with, not for myself nor any (hypothetical) kids/grandkids I might have.
Some statistics following a lengthy questionaire directly asking about what might be happening on & off the field, between players, between coaches/trainers & players, was rather disturbing.
I think I'd have a problem determining how much roughness is acceptable. I wouldn' even want them shouted at from the other side of the field... still, I would certainly want to notice if they are not comfortable, not eager or happy to go & train or play. I'd be so annoying, watching all the time.
I'm happy for them to blame me for losses; better than blaming themselves. 😺 They may claim all the goals!

As for grass - bamboo & sugar cane are types of grass too!

What if ... all yummy food were 0 calorie?
I think our brains would react to the fact that the foods which offer no calories are less useful than eating cardboard & begin to tell us they are really uninteresting & stop rewarding us with the little dopamine hit we've been used to.
any other thoughts, anyone?

Hey everyone! that includes all members, new and less new, all welcome to post any time!
Hey Kitty!
That's the magic of he BB Cafe, ALL the offerings are zero calories lol.
FUTSAL is like soccer but a smaller field and smaller teams. 5 a side + reserves. We thought it would be gentler than soccer on a full field etc but it's far more intense we've found out.
Tbh I'd rather my kids (adults and teens) be out playing ANY sport (almost lol) than not being engaged in healthy running around. Being idle and all that... not so good.
And they LOVE being together. Finding a Sport they all be involved with at the same time was difficult.
It's only their first season. No one is intentionally hurting them or each other, just injuries from the ball or accidental stuff.
Thankyou for your concern but they're good!

Well the rain has returned today. Eye roll. I've been trying to push it out West to the farmers but the clouds aren't listening!
What's everyone up to this weekend?
I'm up at sparrow's time to watch the grandkids play soccer in the freezing cold lol.
Cancelled the dentist, got some high temps this afternoon and lots of you know what going around here.
Have fun everyone!

Hi EM & all,
Cool & rainy day predicted for here, today, & it sure is cool & cloudy. No rain ... yet. If I could send the rain where it's needed, I would too.
It's a soup day, for sure. My usual is tomato made with some milk & pasta, ham pieces & cheese lumps, & I'd like to also have croutons today, as per what I hear whenever I happen to accidently hear cooking shows, for the crunch.
I do wonder sometimes, about if I had become a parent, & think I really would have not coped. I don't thnk I could have relaxed & let the kids run & play & pretty much do anything on their own! Maybe some minor injuries from sport, or climbing trees, or simply falling over sometimes, then getting up & brushing myself off & trying again would have made a huge difference to my attitude now. It's things like this that teach children resilience & self-reliance, & together with being able to trust the people around them for help & support when needed, would make for much healthier adults & society in general.
Could the Cafe use some 🐧🐧🐧? I have dozens to find homes for.
Warmly,
💖💖💖💖

Wow Kitty, that soup sounds yummy. Have you made enough for the BB Cafe?
I had leftovers for dinner but I'm sure I could make room!
New poster/members are welcome to post too!
It sprinkled with rain here again today, like yesterday - all day.
Nice for the garden (no erosion) but just enough to feel uncomfortable being outside.
Marginally warmer here today.
I got some pleasant gardening in after the grand kids soccer matches. Yep they won lol. Then backed up the next team for the first time. It's SO CUTE watching them. They're growing up so fast.
Ah I can't take on any more animals here sorry Kitty. FULL HOUSE.
I'm sure they'd be happy staying at yours lol.
Take care everyone
Love EM
