The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

A week to make all the wonderful & surprising goodies. So cool! 😺Hope they took more than 10 minutes to gobble them up! (Kind of scarily, I can imagine they could have gobbled in under 10 minutes, but I hope not.)
I did a quick google search for & found Futsal, like soccer, indoor, smaller area, 5 per side, & players can contact the ball with any part of the body except the hands.. Is that right? I hope they all have fun, don't get hurt, & are tired at the end. 😺 I will make a note in my calendar, 'Tuesday PM Cheering for Futsal Players'.
Leisa, As much as I might like to still be able to window shop, there is a definite benefit to NOT seeing all the tempting things as I pass by them. I did my online shopping, Coles, & didn't see those sausage rolls, because I didn't search for anything likely to show them in the results. Sometimes I do see something not really related to my search, & it may look really yummy, & I have found a few things trying something I hadn't known existed. I found caramelised onion relish this way, just looking for something else.
My shopping seemed so expensive today. I did get a few items which, I know were expensive, but I didn't buy a lettuce. I keep thinking I should, because they are better for me than other things I buy. If I didn't buy a couple other things, I could get the lettuce... but the lettuce is not nearly as enjoyable! Oh, woe, poor mmMekitty,😾...

Hi Matchy, today wasn't so terrible as when I went online shopping at Woolies Online. I note your new picture. Looks a little misty & rainy?

Hi all and wonderful morning indeed,
I stuck my head outside so I can feel what zero degrees feels like again. It's sunny but cold. My kind of day. Reminds me of primary school days. Funny how the weather alters your mood.
The coffee was so good today.
I must say that for some odd reason I feel happy today. Maybe it's the visit to the Cafe or the other social forums. The word games are great to wake up to each day. Gets my brain working before I sit down to mundane data entry.
Enjoy the day wherever you may be!

Hi all,
It's pretty cool this afternoon after a busy day. Watched a musical today at the local theatre, it was pretty good, however, we had to wear a mask through the whole thing, which nearly gave me a panic attack. Ate a lovely panini for lunch, there is so much you can put on a slice of panini, I had turkey, Camembert, and Avocado with lettuce on mine. Along with a mug of Flat White coffee. Yummy. Everything is in the air (sorry about the pun) with mask-wearing around here, at theatres, buses, and trains you need to wear them, but at Coles, it's not mandated yet! I'm not a fan of the mask but will wear it if I have to of course. I just feel smothered by them.
I hope everyone has a lovely and warm evening. Tomorrow is a big study day for me!

Hello everyone,
Fiatlux, may I enquire, having stuck your head out of a window on a freezing day & felt what it is like once, why did you do it again? 😼
I'm happy to think you feel happy today, no matter whatthe reason. May I suggest, don't examine - just enjoy.
Leisa, thank you for caring enough to make the effort to keep wearing the mask, even though you felt you might have a panic attack. It helps me to know people are doing that, & keeping the 1.5m distance, too, because I still can't wear the mask for more than 30seconds without panic overwhelming me. I am so vey grateful for those who can.
Your lunch sounds pretty good to me, 😸without the avo, please, & I could enjoy that very much.
This evening I am experimenting with pancakes, adding broccoli, spinnach & condensed cream of chicken soup & using my whizzer stick thing to mix all this into the pancake batter...
...hmm, the batter seems too thin. the outer surfaces of the pancakes are crispy but the area between is too wet still.... I have spread a couple out more, so they will be very thin.
Tastes okay - when the broccoli & spinach (from frozen) is cooked it does not taste strong. I would like more it it did taste stronger.
Sleep well, everyone.

Hello everyone! Hoping you're enjoying the goodies in the Cafe.
mmMeKitty, oh so sorry about the FUTSAL word! Didn't mean to make you work to read my post lol, sorry!
Well we need bigger CHEERS although yours are very much appreciated lol.
They all came home and said "we were SMASHED"... they haven't played soccer for YEARS so their fitness levels probably need some work.
They had some fun though and got to catch up and spend time together.
I bailed lol.... it was FAR too cold for moi! And raining and just yuck lol. I was tired, cold and hungry so stayed home. I'm just the cheer squad so they didn't miss me.
I'll be happy to sleep tonight. This rain has been very loud on the metal roof, then our dog barks at the rain lol, then the cat gets all skittish and therein lies our rainy night roundabouts.

Good Morning.
mmMekitty, I stuck my head out the back door yesterday and the front door today. I like to feel the sting of cold air on my face. Wakes me up. Its zero degrees again, but sunny.
I don't know if anyone else has planted bulbs this year, but I planted some in May and they were supposed to flower in Spring, but to my surprise they popped up rather early and most are flowering already. I planted most around the pond and these are going gang busters. Could be the environmental changes playing out in my garden.
I also have a dilemma about using fresh or frozen vegetables. I always have frozen peas and a mix of garden veg as I love to add these to almost everything. Broccoli I love. I find that a small fresh head costs the same as a whole kilo of frozen. Why? There's so much costly processing involved. I understand that having frozen means we have vegetables available all year round. I find that they can be watery as well, so I have flash fried them in a wok as this draws out some of the water.
Savory pancakes sound so good. I usually do a frittata but I am going to start experimenting with pancakes.
And its so good to hear that people are getting out to Theatre and other shows. The very last time I ventured out to a ticketed event, was the Melbourne Comedy Festival, last year 2021.
Have a lovely day.

Don't ask why some frozen veggies are more watery once frozen, but from what I have heard these can actually be fresher than fresh at the supermarket. That is, if frozen immediately after picking!
Now.... if case any missed me in the last days, its because I have finally been hit with COVID. In a family of 4, only daughter and myself were positive on Monday. We had all available shots (not the 4th yet as that only came out recently for us) so have been confined to bedroom. At least until next Mon evening. In summary, getting better slowing and glad I had shots previously.

Hello Smallwolf, don't fret, just take really good care of yourself. 😸
I was listening to the concert held tonight at the Sydney Opera House, which has been refurbished, like new, they reckon.
I am trying to post here, way too late, I guess. I tried resting my legs, but already they are not happy. & I can' concentrate.
🙀
