The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Good morning everyone,
Sorry if my coughing woke you, after waking me... I'm not shaking this flu as quickly as I'd hoped.
These mornings, while it seems too early to be even considering breakfast, I find myself thinking of making some hot breakfast, for real I mean. Usually, I've been having cereal abetween 8-9am, when I'm having morning meds. Still, I don't always want to, but this is my latest effort to establish a regular breakfast & after that , I also have an eye drop to use, which I have been forgetting to do far too often.
I'm sitting here now, unable to get back to sleep, & thinking about what to have for breakfast, & wanting to cook something, now, before sunrise.
Thinking veggie omelette, with some ham bits & the obligatory cheese. & I'll have another warm lemon & honey drink then, too.
First, my big morning cuppa coffee, with gratitude for being able to make these drinks & meals I like for myself😺.

Hello,
Good to have so many people hanging around, I'm so glad you are okay Monkey Magic. Today I had some news, I am to go to surgery at our local hospital on the 29th of June. A long story short, they have to break the bones in my right foot and then reset them. Eventually and unfortunately (hopefully a long way down the track) I will be unable to walk. I am responding to this by moving around as much as I can pain or no pain. Does not do any good with the depression side of things, but I have people to help me with that. I would rather have my feet problem rather than the depression hands down. We are so brave, us here.
Today was a lovely catch-up with friends at the local club. Tried the Keno but no luck. Tonight is Disco night for my son, and tomorrow is a book signing at a Lebanese restaurant. I like to stay busy! The cool weather seems to be staying around, fortunately, I'm sure I have mentioned that I love this time of year. mmMekitty I hope you get well soon it sounds like you got a large dose of the lurgy..

Hi Leisa,
Sounds like you are in for a rough time, & doing whatever you can to support yourself. Lots of people here to help you, too,😺anytime you want.
I think I must've got a big dose, or my body was very open to this virus, & it's having a great time! OR I keep re-infecting myself here in my little flat, because it's so cold I don't want to open up during the day, even when the wind is not strong, (as it needs to be to have any chance of ventilating this place.
Yes, I am so glad you are okay, Monkey, with no lasting physical injuries. How have yu been feeling about the accident?
I'm gonna curl up now, hoping to sleep some more. 🙀

mmMekitty my collarbone hurts. I've been feeling sad because the accident took my 4wd away. I am however able to drive my uncle's car but it's lowered and just not the same.
I don't have ptsd of anything from the accident. I was hyped up the first night though and didn't sleep very well.

Hi Monkey,
Okay, hurting collarbone area for awhile, & I suppose you will want to do some things a little differently while it hurts.
I'm sure driving a car that's lower to the ground would be different. I think, if I could, I would want a car to be higher , too. I think that would give me the notion I could somehow see more around me. Not sure that's true in practice, but the angle of view I think would allow a better view. Not so much sky, which, for driving, you don't need.
I hope you are sleeping better again.
Warmly,
mmMekitty

Hi, monkey magic and mmmeKitty,
Did you win monkey magic? I'm sorry about the loss of your car that sort of thing is pretty severe I have done it myself and feel sorry for you. I hope it does not have too big of an impact. Mostly these days my partner drives me around, I get pretty nervous these days.
Hi mmmeKitty the lurgy is still around hey? I'll certainly look for help here, I don't do too well with surgery, it's the anesthesia side of things, being out and then trying to reorientate myself. I go into a bit of a spin. It all happens on the 24th of June. I hope you get better soon.
I went to a book signing today. I bought the book, but forgot to get it signed! Good on me! It was held at a Lebanese restaurant, and the food was absolutely beautiful and there was way too much of it. I had a great time, I go with my women's club to these events and it's always fun. I was thinking of bringing in some Lebanese restaurant, maybe some kebabs (chicken and beef), and some Taboluli to put into salad rolls. Yum.
I hope everyone who is reading this is well.

Hi Leisa
Sounda like you had a good time with with friends, some good food too. & you have a new book to read.
I enjoy tabbouleh. Last time I had some I had it in a toasted sandwich, with chicken olives & cheese. Sometimes I have it in a pasta salad, or potato salad, or adding to warm pasta or potatoes. Or in my omelette.
Have you spoken to anyone involved with your surgery, about the problems you have coming out of Anaesthesia, feeling disorientated & how that makes you feel. At some point you will be asked if you've had any problems with anaesthesia before. I know it may sound like they are asking about allergic reactions, or some physical reaction. Even if it does sound like that, tell them anyway. Tell them everything you have concerns about. I'm sure they've heard it all during their years of work.
Now, Where's those tabbouleh filled rolls? I hope there is cheese in there, too.

Dear MM~
I've just caught up on this thread and was very concerned to hear you'd been in an auto crash.
I'm delighted you've come out of it OK but have great sympathy your 4WD wheels have been written off. It's great to have loaner, however that high secure view in most directions is something one takes for granted until one has to use a lower vehicle.
I hope you get another 4WD later on
