The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay

Hi Everyone, I bought a new printer where I as told it 'was so easy to set up', well yes, it was easy to take it out of it's box, but spent 3 hours with the company's help line, who also had trouble but after 3 hours or more, they got it going.

The printer's the same brand as my laptop, so I thought all I had to do was download the software and bingo, it'd would be working, how mistaken I was.

Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

I am sort of glad you have had this happen to you. But, no; i know it's no fun. I have had my 'easy-peasy' printer set up 3-4 times by people who're supposed to understand these ting & it still doesn't work for me. My PC continues to not recoginese the thing. It's not as if I want one often, but sometimes people insist on paper copies with bits filled in & my actual signature.

I sincerely hope it continues to work for you.

Hi On the Road. It's good to see you this morning. Me, so early? Yes, again. I've been waking reallyearly too often lately, & then not being able to go back to sleep again.

I've yet to feel the late autumn/onset of winter. There was a day last week, when I thought things were turning cool enough, but it's not so much, yet where I am.

I got me a new fleecy shirt style jacket. So cosy, with a hood I can remove as I like. Other than that it is styled like a shirt, buttons, cuffs & breast pockets, & with a scalloped hem, & goes past my bum! (๐Ÿ˜บVery important, that bit.) As much as I tend to dread winter, I want it to get cold enough to wear my new fleecy.

When I am not too tired, like right now, I do like comeing here for a little distraction from whatever else in my mind, such as the things that I cannot do anything about, but still stress me. I find constant stress needs to be interrupted.

I thought I found some Philip Glass music yesterday, but then they interrupted that with irritating ads. Rather spoils the reason for the man having written such intriguing music, & my immersion into it. It had some unusal bass vocal like chant at the start. I have no idea how it might progress.. but I'm not going to sit out here at my desk to stop ads every 5 - 10 minutes to find out & be more tense, irritated & frustrated for more than an hour, no matter how distracting that may have been to those worries & such it may be.

Sometimes, I think I might stop having coffee, but I gave in & got some more. Would you, On the Road, Geoff, anyone, like some? Or something else? ๐Ÿ˜บ My treat.

Hi Geoff, ah yes the printer problem... annoying and frustrating. can't believe you spent more than 3 hours on the customer line... Older style printers are probably better and easier to use in my blur memory... glad that you got it going ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Mekitty, happy to see you enjoy being here and having a little distraction... ๐Ÿ™‚that's also the reason that I came here in the social zone. I saw you've posted more than 3000 posts๐Ÿ™€ As for those annoying ads, you can try some plugin (extension) that blocks ads. is there anyone you know who's tech-savvy that can help you with that? are you listening to music on youtube? Maybe you can pay for a premium membership.๐Ÿ™‚ and yes, I would like a cup of latte with silky milk ๐Ÿ˜บ

Sorry Geoff, the sentences I typed sound strange and rude !๐Ÿ˜ฉI mean I can't believe you have the patience to spend three hours on the phone and then get it done. If it were me, I would definitely give up and the next day call someone else to set it up for me.

there's a downside for me to communicating by written words on forum as English is not my first language....

Having an early mother's Day lunch today with my mum and grandmother. Happy mother's day to all the mum's out there!

I can't believe I actually slept late, &also have had a lunchtime catnap! This pool table is the most comfy ever! Thanks for the padding & fleecy baize, whoever organised that upgrade is in my mmMarshmallow debt forever.๐Ÿ˜น

But so sorry, On the Road, your latte โ˜•is late. I hope you still enjoy after lunch, with donuts?๐Ÿฉ.

I'm enjoying a second cuppaโ˜•, myself. I added milk, cinnamon & some of the tiny chocolate chips (only tiny amounts of sugar in these), & stirred until chocolate melted. Yummy๐Ÿ˜ธ.

As for IT experts I can be sure I can rely on, I've not had much luck. I don't know how to find them.๐Ÿ˜พ

One thing I have regretted is not getting into computers as they were becoming household items. I was afraid - & didn't get one until 2003 (I think). The new things I found I needed to learn soo felt overwhelming. I was also including software to help because of my eyesight. Now my memory doesn't seem to want to retain much new info, or even half the old info. It's very frustrating.

But, when it works rights, I love the technology! It is marvelous what it can do - but too much, I would rather it couldn't do, or how it can be used for criminal acts & trolling, & other online harm... that bothers me a lot, & gets me cranky! & then I wish I did know a massive amount more so I could be a cyber sleuth๐Ÿฑโ€๐Ÿ’ป& track these people down!

Mind, here, it's thundering, ๐ŸŒฉ& dark as sunset right now... so you might not want to be driving - telport would be safer.

Oh, &, about the number of posts - On the Road, I think 70% must surely be accounted for in the little word games, which I kind of think of as greeting while passing by, like waving 'hello' as well as fun & diverting.

Also, I think your English is fine, & I follow what you are saying very well. Every post is good practice, too, as is talking to people regularly. If ever you are not sure what is said, please ask. I'm sure everyone here will be happy to help, ๐Ÿ˜บincluding me.

Hello everyone,

I had a very pleasant experience today. I am part of a women's group and today we went to the Spanish Film Festival in the capital city. I was only going to the film and not the lunch after due to financial constraints. Anyhow the film (I thought) was good and as we walked towards the restaurant, I voiced my goodbyes, and the ladies would not hear of it! So I was whisked in and shouted lunch! One of the lovely ladies came up to me during lunch and told me that I have found my "community". I nearly burst into tears. The tapas was delightful all in all a lovely day. And I didn't spiral down.

We have a cat at my place who has decided to take over. He is on the verandah to greet us when we leave and when we come home. He just sits on the chair and at times comes down to meow through the screen door. He is a big white male with brown bits on him. There is a problem though. We have our own darling cat a little Turkish Angora who is 17 years old. She sits down at the back and comes up when he is gone and it's her territory. How do we gently move this lovely great white male cat on (he does have a collar, therefore an owner)? Or maybe they can cohabit?

I'm afraid I cannot eat anything at the cafe today, too full of the tapas!

๐Ÿ˜บOh, a little kindness does so much GOOD! I imagine I would have been tearful, myself, Leisa68. That's so lovely! + tapas! I think you have found community & good friends.

As for the darling cat, I wonder if the white (with little brown bits), had been chipped &/or tattooed & registered? Your vet could find out, & sf so, the owner could be found. Otherwise the two cats may come to an 'arrangement' between them, & hopefully won't come to blows! Or does your veranda have room enough for two chairs? Of-course, their 'arrangement' may be to avoid each other....

You could take a good photo of him & post it locally, with a number the owner could call?

RSPCA also has a lost & found area on their website. Again, a good photo would help, if you can upload one?

Would you consider keeping the white if no owner is found,if your 17yr old gets on well enough with him around? If you can afford food, vet, & other things cats need?

Hope this helps.๐Ÿ˜ธ

Tomorrow, you can have ๐Ÿฐ, made fresh each day!
