The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

i've been watching Only Fools And Horses lately, a British sitcom. i've heard lots about it, and it was rated the best British sitcom of all time. wow, i certainly wouldn't say that. each to their own but i thought it was awful. i only found 1 episode in series 6 actually funny. the jokes were repetitive, i found it rather annoying and stupid. lots of people like it but i couldn't stand it. really don't know how it was rated the best.

i love British comedy/sitcoms, i've grown up with it. it's something that helps me. i find comfort in them, although i get obsessed with an actor, find out they've passed away, get heartbroken that i wasn't around in the 70s & 80s so i could've met them & written to them, then regret not discovering them earlier. sigh.

I wonder, who rates these things? How do you find out anything who rates programmes, movis, music or anything? I can't be bothered rating stuff online, myself, because I figure people can figure out if the product is what they want or not for themselves. We all have our own likes & dislikes, wants & needs - so how much can I rely on ratings to give me any idea at all about if it would suuit me?

I'd thought to write to Joni MItchell, because her music, words she wrote, & how her style of singing appealed so much I wanted to sing more as a result of hearing her. & so much more, when I was at my lowest...but trying to write, got so emotional, I haven't ever finished writing that email I might have sent.

I think I've heard a little distant thunder...far away. It is a little cloudy, but not looking dark at all.

Years ago I thought of writing to the Don and ask him if he remembered my grandmother as they were neighbours when they were kids and use to walk to school together.I never did and regret not doing it.

Oh what happened to the post I thought I just posted here - no, not this one!

I had said, I've had a thunderstorm move through, made me jumpy & tingly at times, & made me grouchy, so I told it off, because it's not supposed to do that!

ThenI have also doing my online grocery shopping - & I am only permitted 2 items of fresh milk, I usually get 2X2L bottles,& another 1L so I could avoid going to get more when I am out with my helper. I want to get some outdoor time somewhere.

& I never got my catnap - I miss my catnap! ( I have realised I don't have nana naps; I'm not a nana!)

Ha, now I think, if I wrote Joni Mitchell, now, about how I first heard her on a tiny transistor radio, back in the early 1970s, that may just make her feel awfully old!

Hi

I hate thunder and lightning it scares me. I’m struggling with my diet because dr has me on a sugar free diet and not allowed rice bread pasta or potatoes.
I had a break from it a week or so ago and now I’m in the craving stage.
Its a struggle to get what you need online now. I get 3 litre milks and I have refused to stock up and we have gone without because of it.

I have a hankering for banana pancakes with ice cream and bacon. Lol a place near me makes the best ever. I’ll see if I can imagine them while I eat my meat and green verges tonight.

Good thing is I can have cheese and avocados

Hi MC, Cheese 🧀&🥑avocado -together?

I could do without the sugar, but for what gets into processed food. Gotta watch for that.

But I am not at all sure I could be so disciplined to forgo pasta, potato's, bread or maybe even rice, in that order. One at a time, maybe, for a week at a time, but all of these? I would find that very difficult. I hope you are appreciative of your achievements.

You are making a mighty fine effort to care for yourself, MC. No doubt about it.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have thought to keep some long life milk, in the event I am not sent any milk, as has happened, once. So, I do still have some of that, from my previous order, ready just in case...

off topic sorry, but per my friends suggestion who runs her own wax melt business, i think i might get a cheap lightbox from ebay and some card stock or something for backgrounds to practice my photography, so i can get more confident in it. it's fun and creative. my mum has a camera she's never used, i'm not sure of the brand and how to work it, i just use my ipad but i suppose i could use my dad's phone to take the photos. i don't think our current laptop which is old has a part to put the photos from the camera on it, but i have no clue, all of that is new to me. there's this hashtag, waxloverschallenge on instagram that i've been doing with other melt fans and talking with them sometimes, they're nice people. so many small aussie and overseas businesses that make them. i find them relaxing and interesting coming up with scents. my friend who runs her own melt business is a queen at coming up with scent ideas.

I've been curious, Robthomaslover, about this 'wax melt' you've mentioned. Would you explain more about what is involved? I now have an idea it's about creating scented candles or something?

Just a thought, why not a scented cat orniment? I particularly like the scent of frangipanis, & with vanilla, might give one the impression of the cat having been warming in the sun. 😺 I'd like that very much.

Here, have a midnight snack🍿

they're just scented wax in shapes, like candles but you put them in a warmer which releases the smell. some of them have nice melt pools too
