You're so welcome Velvet;

As I'm not a beer drinker, the tray spa sounds a treat thankyou! Though a straight scotch with coke chaser might fit the bill.

Snag buddies and cyber buddies done up to the nines will be just dandy! Will pack my tog's and thongs; it'll be bonza!

Don't forget the mozzie coil!

Waltzing Matilda -1895 old memory.

The Combo Waterhole is thought to be the location of the story that inspired "Waltzing Matilda". The Australian poet Banjo Paterson wrote the words to "Waltzing Matilda" in January 1895 while staying at Dagworth Station, a sheep and cattle station near Winton in Central West Queensland owned by the Macpherson family.

Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a coolibah tree,
He sang as he watched and waited 'til his billy boiled
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with meWaltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me
He sang as he watched and waited 'til his billy boiled,
you'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with meDown came a jumbuck to drink at the billabong,
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee,
he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag,
you'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with meWaltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
you'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me
he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag,
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with meUp rode the squatter, mounted on his thoroughbred,
Up rode the troopers, one, two, three,
With the jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker bag?
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me
With the jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker bag?
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, you scoundrel with me. Up jumped the swagman and sprang into the billabong,
You'll never catch me alive, said he,
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong,
you'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me
his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong,
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me.
Oh, you'll come a-Waltzing Matilda, with me.

Just a theme song for the backround.

With the old cork hat, to keep the blowies away

Peace

Peace Mat. What you said about Waltzing Matilda is up for contention. I wont argue one way or another. But there are at least two versions of the song that I know of. There could be more out there. Even though an aussie wrote it. Now the yanks have the rites to it. So all the royalties go to some yank. If someone sings it in public. Go figger.

Peace out

Kanga.

I'm pretty sure china owns the world. The only country that has real money. Every other country is in debt to them.

At leats we got our vegemite back.

I was getting sick of that dick smith brand stuff.

What ever happened to him?

Peace

Dick Smith is still running several businesses. Plus donating small amounts of folding stuff called money (at least I think that's what it's called) to various charities. Or people who have a good business plan, similar to the shark tank. If it's for a business he at least expects his money back. Plus some change for his trouble.

Hey Kanga

Just an interesting piece of Trivea for the Kanga memory banks...

Back in the early 1990's Canadian health authorities said Kraft (now Bega of course) had to reduce the sodium content of Vegemite by a minimum of 33% before they would think about importing it lol

I dont mind having it now and again but its woefully overpriced for a jar of Black Salt/Brewers yeast extract.

Happy Saturday everybody

Paul

Yes I remember the case well, more trivia. Vegemite was originally a cast off. But they didn't want to waste it. So they played around with it. Got the recipe right It was to be used in things like a stews, and casseroles. As a flavor enhancer also because of the salt content you didn't need to add any more salt to the dish.

Truly Aussie,

Vegemite;

What other country in the world would save everything that made beer. Vegemite is gold.

Yeast extract from beer brewing, originally.

I think its time for the classic aussie beer song,

Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,

Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,

Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer,

And so on. I think thats how it goes. There are many versions to that one to kanga. It changes the more you drink. Lol.

Peace

Well then what about Marmite. The english version of Vegemite. Made from brewers yeast, etc. Very similar product very similar ingredients both had to reduce the salt content at about the same time. Various rumours have been spread about each of them. Most of the rumours are untrue.
