Hey Kanga,
I bought some Eco neem today at my favourite shop B , I have never used it before. The stuff I have used has been pest oil, confor(something) and something else. I'm so excited to try your thing.
I was going to do it this arvo but I thought it was going to snow!
As for all this mulch talk. I have done it all,My chooks love it. LOL

Oh wow, thx for newspaper tip Kanga. I'm not a fan of plastic weed mats as the worms can't get into the soil and apparently ruins the soil too. Can you use paper from junk mail ie that sort of shiny paper from catalogues for example?

It's better to use the paper you get for the herald the advocate the age the local paper. Any news paper the glosses do break down so good there is something in the ink they use.

That trick I have been using for about 20 years. Mainly because I needed a soulition to a problem. With very limited funds. They do say necessity is the mother of invention.

Morning all,
The sun came out yday arvo,so I finally split up a very large orchard plant was in spot. It flowers a beautiful dark maroon colour. So far it is in 9 new plants with at least 6 bulbs.
Sould I break them into smaller plants? I also bought some strike back for orchids.

What you do is several pages down then overlap by about 25 mm then repeat till the area is covered with news paper. Then place mulch directly on top liberal covering so when finished no paper is seen. Watering in the usual way. If your farther is from where I think he is from. Water the way he would. My Nonna showed me how to water the right way.

hi Kanga, Japanese maple trees have that magic in colour, just as weeping fig or blossom trees, plus I love silver birches. Geoff.
