Sometimes I change the course of a conversation or hijack it by picking up on a minor detail and going off in a whole new direction. I might need an outlet for my habit. So the rules are, you can join in the conversation by taking it in a whole new direction or saying something that just doesn't follow on. Remember that we are not being serious...

I love the real spelling! My real name is nothing like Sherie though. Sherie is not an anglicised spelling of my real name.

I am really lucky to work with Aboriginal people. There are so many Wiradjuri words hidden in sight where we live from town names, to rivers, and streets... everywhere. It is like a whole new layer of meaning in the world.

Place names including street names can be interesting. I like finding out where the name came from. In some cases it is a historical event or person it sometimes relates to an overseas place & sometimes reflects indigenous culture. It is easy to take names for granted but we can learn so much if we find out their origin.

I've always wondered... Is it illegal to steal a street sign? I've always looked at a few with longing. My neighbour has our street sign (and the whole post) in his backyard. I think it's funny. They replace the sign and it disappears again. Must collect them. Maybe it's his surname.

Yes stealing signs is illegal..... (if you get caught) 😄

I have plundered a few in my life with the assistance of my dad.... who has been in various forms of law enforcement HAHAHA.

I think I have flogged around 5 or 6 signs...... and not one for myself !!! Must remedy this.

Hey velvetfaerie,

I'm envious wish I was daring enough to do that. Love the fact that your Dad was in on it cop and all 😊.

Makes me think of my Dad. He's a stonemason. I remember telling someone that once and getting the reply 'wow that's a weird job making the gravestones'. What the? I had to explain he builds stuff out of stone. They gave me a blank look and replied 'well yeah... like headstones on a grave'. Needless to say I gave up on that conversation.

Hey Quercus,

I'm sadly better behaved these days.... in some ways 😄 Still a bit of an adventurous thrill seeker but just more adult about it lol!!

A stonemason. That's cool. Very unique career and somewhat artistic too I guess?

coffee needed... 9.5 hours of sleep and I'm a bit groggy lol.
