Insomnia can be very frustrating. Hopefully you find something that helps you sleep better.
The triggers must have been distressing. It's very frustrating when something ends up doing the opposite of what you had intended.
I hope you found ways to calm the flashbacks and any other responses you experienced- it sounds rough. You're right in saying that Patriot Day isn't really my kind of movie. I generally don't like movies that are on the more violent end of the spectrum (I'm assuming that's the case for this movie?), and especially if it's based on real events (I find that too confronting and stressful for me to watch).
The way that Schickele referenced famous pieces at counterpoints with Mozart's Eine Kleine Nichtmusik was ingenious. Very clever!
Tea for Two was pleasant enough. It made think of 2 friends chatting then getting up to dance. I really enjoyed Autumn Leaves! Funnily enough, what you didn't like about it- the lushness- was precisely what I liked about it ha, ha. I personally think Autumn leaves can take one away from the ho hum daily life where, for a brief period, you can imagine you're somewhere else much more beautiful and exciting.
I've been listening to Chopin's Nocturne Op.9 No.1 this morning. It's kind of sad sounding but it helps me relax. Sometimes his nocturnes can also be a bit of a tearjerker if I'm in the right mood. You've possibly heard of them already but I highly recommend Chopin's nocturnes- 21 in total for piano- although they do tend to be rather melancholy.
