Hi Dools. First, they 'need' you to work Xmas, now they cut your days dowm - I'm not surprised you feel confused.
Must go - very late ...

Hi Croix,
I stumbled upon your response here while checking something else! I am still struggling to find my way around this new set up easily and confidently.
Yes, interacting with others is important. I have been giving that some thought. I'm taking some time off work soon so will look at opportunities when I return.
My days with the fire service ended some time ago. My health was not permitting me to adequately fulfil requirements.
My walks at dawn are very rewarding. Some days the sky is brilliant. This morning I was entertained by a hare that did not seem to know which side of the road it wanted to run.
I did enjoy a trip to the beach and had waited for a cooler day so I cold enjoy a walk and not be cooked to a crisp.
The garden has responded extremely well to the unseasonal rains. I think I can make an entry in the Guinness Book of records for the most weeds pulled out in a month! And still they keep growing!
Hope you are keeping well Croix and all reading. Regards from Dools

Dear LRC
Um, if I"m a walrus in snowshoes (I've no idea how to fit them to flippers) I guess you must be puss-in-boots.

Dear Dools
I'm glad you found my reply, this place is not the easiest and I'm sure I miss a lot.
I mentioned the Fire Service not for you to retrace your steps and join them again, but merely to acknowledge you are capable person and will find something that suits your needs.
I'm afraid you have not convinced me about dawn walks, even with a confused hare. That does remind me of evening walks when bandicoots scoot round in circles in response to being disturbed, I'd have thought making a bee line away from the disturbance might have been wiser. Fortunately Foxy Dog is on a leash.
Mrs C and I visited a beach, but it was late on New Years Eve so we could watch fireworks over the water, a family tradition going back umpteen years. Naturally we did not get burnt by the sun either:)
You have the advantage of me in gardening I can't tell the weeds from the proper inhabitants, so I rely upon Mrs C's horticultural expertise.

Dear mmMekitty~
That's an awful lot of "dum's"
Actually you did me a favor as you reminded me of that Nancy Sinatra song which in turn reminded me of a CD I had intended to look out for a long time ago, so off to eBay now:)

Hello Dear Croix…and everyone….🤗,
I am so sorry to hear that you’ve been unwell…Please do take good care of you, wishing you all the biggest get well wishes I have within me…💕🌹🕯..
Thank you, I got through the Christmas/New Year season the best I could, now another year to try to improve my mental health…We can never stop trying… can we?
I did watch “Miracle on 34th Street” also “It’s a Wonderful Life”….and a movie called “Kindness Matters”…I can recommend Kindness Matters…lovely film…a few, no lots of tears through that one…
My fur girls each got a bone for Christmas, it was fun watching them taste test each other’s bone, swap a few times until they found the right one for themselves…😂😂😂….Then after chewing on them for hours, they all fell asleep for a while…
Give Foxy dog a little pat and cuddle from me, I tried but my hands won’t go through the screen😁…
Hugs, Dear Croix and everyone reading….🤗🤗🤗…
Grandy💕

Hi Croix and all,
I did have a good laugh over your explanation about your gardening skills. The garden has been beneficial to me in many ways, ours is a work in progress and I am certainly no expert.
I was telling a friend about a new bush I bought. She asked me what it was, I explained it has green leaves and yellow flowers! I am not very technical at all and botanical names do not roll off my tongue very easily.
I do cringe a little when my husband tells me he is going to do some gardening! One time I went out quickly before work and put signs up stating "I am a plant not a weed... please don't spray me!"
He likes to mow down the agapanthus as they just look like tall grass to him when not in flower. An apricot tree in winter came close to being chopped down with the chainsaw as he thought it was dead. One time he explained enthusiastically how he had pulled up all those weeds along the fence with red flowers...the geraniums I had been growing to cover the ugly old fence. I have had some good laughs over his gardening exploits!
I have been to the volunteer centre and have picked up a leaflet to consider the volunteering opportunities listed. I had thought of re-joining the fire service in more of a supportive roll than being active on the trucks. Time will tell as to where I end up.
Sunset walks are lovely as well. I am sometimes out with my sister in the evenings. My eyesight is not so good at dusk and need to have a torch with me. One night we had a picnic dinner on top of a hill with the wind blowing and a torch in a glass so we could see what we were eating!
I've not seen a bandicoot, that is very special! At dawn this morning I saw a large buck kangaroo.
Cheers to you all from Doosl
