I am also tired of having to hide it. Especially with work.
I can't afford to loose my job but I can't say what's really going on.
I am scared and unsure of what to do. I have lost jobs because of my mental health being so up and down.
I have no one to talk about it to.

Thanks for reaching out tonight,
We're sorry to hear how scared you feel coming off your medication. We acknowledge the uncertainty that would come from transitioning off a medication. Did the hospital talk through what your next steps could be in getting support and maintaining your quality of life? You might also want to talk this through with your regular GP or psychologists if you have one.
If you feel up to it, we'd also recommend getting in touch with our Support Service which is available 24/7 on 1300 22 4636 or you can visit on our website www.beyondblue.org.au/getsupport for online chat. One of our friendly counsellors will be able to give you some information and advice to help you.
We hope that you keep checking back in with us to let us know how you are going, whenever you feel up to it.

Hi Truetomyself,
So sorry you are feeling so scared and frightened, did they explain to you why they are choosing to do this?
Did they tell you when they were planning on doing this?
Did they say they were going to replace this medication with something else?
If you are unsure of their reasoning maybe give the person a call that is in charge of this and ask them some questions…… let them know that you are scared to come off your medication…
I can understand why you are frightened just try to slow down your breathing…… and calm yourself….
Please come back to us when you are ready …

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are going through at the moment. We are sorry to hear that you are having side-effects of having your medication discontinued by your treatment team.
Have you been able to reach out to them or your GP and let them know how you’re feeling and how this has been affecting you?
If you are concerned about the side-effects and want someone to talk to about it now, we would recommend contacting an on-call nurse service to speak to someone on the phone.
1300 60 60 24 within Victoria (On Call Nurse)
1800 022 222 outside of Victoria (Healthdirect nurse triage)
Otherwise if you are unwell and require immediate medical assistance, please call 000 or present to your local emergency department.

Hi Truetomyself,
I'm so sorry you've been going through this - it sounds like it's been so difficult for you. It seems like you are experiencing a lot of suffering and finding it hard to escape your anxiety and agrophobia. I know this must be so hard for you. One thing that might help is to remember that it will pass and things will get a little bit easier, I know it's so hard to see when you feel so anxious and in the depths of despair...but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and things will slowly get easier as time goes on.
I know that you haven't had many people to talk to so I just want to make sure that you know that we are HERE for you. Always. Whenever you feel alone feel free to jump on the forum and reach out, we love talking to you and you are never, ever alone. Please continue to post if you feel isolated and we can talk.
Sending you lots of strength. Feel free to talk whenever you need it.
Miz
