Hi everyone,
i am so glad I found this forum ❤️
3 month ago I got separated with my partner as he couldn’t stay with me in Europe anymore due to his visa. It was the first time we got separated and I got very depressed. I have always been very anxious. 2 weeks later I had my first panic attack and ended up at the hospital. I was very scared
since then I have this constant feeling of something stuck in my throat.. as well as a very dry throat and couch.
i made the mistake looking online and now all I can think of is throat cancer.
Now I am back with my husband and this feeling doesn’t go away. I went to the GP who thinks I might have acid reflux as well as a thrush. I am taking antibiotics and reflux treatment. He also think that the more I am anxious about cancer, the more my body create acidity and tighten my throat
the feeling doesn't go away. I can quite eat normally even though sometime it feels like it takes effort to go down. And now I don’t eat much because I am scared it would get stuck
has anyone ever had that feeling of tightness and lump in throat ?
i am really scared 😞 and the more I think about it the more I am convinced I have throat cancer.
i am a 33 female.
much love

Hello Annadolcia, it can be said that looking up Dr. Google will help diagnose our condition, the medication we're taking and possible outcomes, but sometimes it can cause more harm than good, and even though this is said, most of us still do against the advice, and yes I still do, although I know I shouldn't but the temptation makes us so curious.
Panic attacks can do this, but know from myself that acid reflux medication has helped me enormously and if your doctor thought you had to worry about any cancer then they would have sent you off to a specialised doctor, fortunately this didn't happen.
Can I ask if your doctor has suggested you take any antidepressants (AD) to try and combat this worry.
Best wishes.
Geoff.

Hey Annadolcia
Your not alone. When I was at a low point, I also experienced panic attacks, they are really a terrible feeling. I would get similar feelings as you described. My thought would feel tight and as if it could catch on itself. 2 years on and apart from mental health things I am still healthy.
I wonder if because your worrying about your throat feeling tight if that’s causing you to breath through your mouth more rather than your nose and then making your throat feel drier and more uncomfortable.
I remember I went through a phase where I was so tense that I was continuously clenching more jaw. It would end up aching and my teeth would hurt. Honestly anxiety is rather cruel.
take care, you’ll get there.

Hi Annadolcia,
Well come to our forums!
I'm sorry you are feeling this way.
I understand that panic attacks are really hard to deal with.
Please try not to dr google it only makes things worse, I also used to do this.
Maybe you could try to challenge your thoughts?
What are the things for the thought?
What are the things against the thought?
When you have this intrusive thought try to redirect your attention onto something in the present moment that s more positive.
What we give attention to we give power to.
I recomend that you go back to your gp and let your gp know how you are feeling and how your anxiety is affecting your life.
You could do a mental health plan together this will enable you to see a pychologist who can give you many helpful stratergies for anxiety.
