Is it my anxiety again

Sarah3108

Hi I suffered from gad 8 years ago and got myself off medication with self help and seeing someone. But I recently had an iron problem and I've been suffering with lots of different problems since and can't help feel it might be my anxiety again. I feel spacey and light headed a lot and my stomach feels full all the time and loss of appitite and generally not feeling like me. These symptoms aren't what I had when I last had gad all my bloods are good and I don't want to go back on tablets as of the side effects but it's getting me down now not knowing what's going on and feeling not with it all the time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Sarah

Welcome and good on you for posting too!

The spacey and light headedness sound like either low iron levels or low level anxiety. Im not a doc but used to have chronic anxiety for many years. I understand your situation.

When did you come off the medication for the GAD? Also when was the last time you saw your GP?

Please excuse the questions. It could be the iron levels but your GP is the best bet. You didnt mention anxiety attacks so I presume you dont have any serious anxiety

you are definitely not alone here Sarah

I seen my gp a few weeks ago. I had a iron infusion and my bloods came back really good. They checked everything. So it's not medical as far as I can see. I came of beta blockers 8 years ago was on them for about a year. Didn't like how they made me feel but it's starting to effect my life and going out. I'm scared I'm going to faint while I'm out or get sick. Has anyone tried natural tablets like kalms.

Hi Sarah

Well done for posting, it takes courage.. I know what you mean about meds and how they affect you, i was on meds for a few years and went of them as they just made me worse, A few years ago i discovered through Beta Blockers through a differant gp i saw. I have a social phobia and Beta Blockers have changed my life.

Sorry for being a bit of topic, but was wondering why you didnt like the way they made you feel. Keep getting your tests done Sarah, and seek another opinion too. Exercise and a good diet all help with iron levels and such
