I'm having a pretty rough time tonight, but if I'm honest I've been struggling for close to 2 months.
I quick background is ive had anxiety offically for about 10 years or so, I see a psych on and off and am on anti depressants.
I live in regional vic, so lock down isn't helping, plus we are building a house and expecting our second child. Just to put some pressure on!
A fear ive always had is ill lose my job for one reason or another and now with my wife off work and taking on a lot of debt its compounding.
I know most of my triggers and I generally just avoid them and of i am triggered I can bounce back relatively quick. I had a server panic attack close to 2 months ago and am yet to bouncw back. I have small triggers that ruin my day, like today.
My psychologist has suggested I talk to my GP and and psychiatrist to potentially increase my dosage during this stressful time and look into if I have OCD.
Ironically enough the idea of another diagnosis and increasing meds is making me.anxious, but I'm keen to get on top of this for my son, my unborn child, my wife and also myself.
Thanks for reading, I just needed a rant.

My wife and a few close friends know everything about me and don't judge me at all.
I know a trick is to imagine if your friend told you their fear and youd respond. Which I believe I wouldn't be concerned, but seems impossible to apply that to myself.
I'm booked to see my GP Monday, so that should help.

Ironically enough when I saw my GP I was having a really good day, so when talking to him about all of the above he recommend to leave medication as is and pursue a psycologist once the lock downs easy (which they have now) because the ones in town "aren't great"
I've really been trying to tune into my anxiety over the last few months and something I found interesting is my anxiety seems to give me the most anxiety. I mean I still get triggers hit me hard but I can be having a good day and my brain will tell me dont be too happy because you have anxiety and then its down that rabbit hole.
My mind confuses anxiety with being hungry and needing to go to the toilet too apparently, so that's fun.

Hello Whatsinaname,
Nice to hear from you....
That’s great your restrictions are easing...
Ok, hopefully you can find a good psychologist..... 😊 If you feel like you need to go back to your gp at any time to discuss medication you can always do that....😊
I understand what you are saying with your brain saying you have anxiety.... but do you know what? Even if you get these thoughts just disregard them smile and keep pushing forward.... keep going about your day in a positive way.... do things that you enjoy....I found in my recovery when I had my anxious thoughts and feelings I would just allow them to be there and still go about my day as planned..... feed your mind with positive thoughts about yourself... create a positive mind set for yourself 😊
I understand what you mean with anxiety we tend to need the toilet and food... it is fun 😊 have you tried exercise for your anxiety? I found this really helped aswell 😊
keep in touch

Now my wife, son and I go for walks, which I love doing but isn't the most strenuous exercise.

That’s great you love surfing with the lock down easing is it something you could get back into?
i understand when kids come along our activities go on break for a little while.....
that’s great you all go for walks 😊 maybe after your family walk you could head out for a jog or bike ride to add a bit of strenuous activity.... it’s really good for the brain 😊 I exercise every day and I think it helps with everything mind body and soul 😊

Hoping you're still around anyway.
I had a pretty big set back about a week ago and end up at the GP again today and he has given me short term fix medication.
My psych app is next week once he gets back.
Just struggling so thought I'd post to see if you're still around.
