Just wondering does anyone else with anxiety experience profuse sweating on a daily basis? I find that I get hot very easily and start sweating even if it isn't hot, and can't sleep or relax if the air con isnt on. And some days are good, I'm happy as, and other days like today I feel like crap. Just feel really tired, hard to get out of bed, no motivation to do anything, feel nauseous and no appetite. The only thing that helps a little is eating high sugar high carb junk foods and sugary drinks. Would love to know others experiences. Thanks.

Law92,
This exact thing you're describing happens to me. I sweat all the time, usually feel overheated, and need the aircon. Very annoying/embarrassing. Good to know I'm not alone. I have also been told this is a physical symptom of anxiety and while it is a well-known one it still feels a bit off. Do you feel the same?
You mention other physical symptoms like nausea and exhaustion, which are also very common. However, in combination these seem to be bothering you enough to merit a mention to your GP. I have to stress that I am *not* a medical professional, but often changes in sleep, appetite, and temperature have to do with our hormones, which is usually looked by an endocrinologist if you have concerns.
I hadn't thought of the sugary drinks trick– I will see if that works! I've found that starting the day with a cold shower rather than a hot one, or just being submerged in cold water, does away with the "extra heat" for a while. Anxiety is strange!
Warmly,
Gems

I am new to Anxiety, but have unknowingly had the symptoms for a very long time. I too sweat all day regardless of temperature, shortness of breath (which can come and go), tingling in fingers, etc. This is only my first week of knowing of my Anxiety, so would say my symptoms are heightened as I am now hyper aware of them. They are constant all day everyday and just can't get out of my own head. Now I know why I feel this way, along with the community in the forums, I am more positive but also still very much worried.
Being a smoker and heavy coffee drinker, have figured out that both trigger my Anxiety, so Sunday is quit day for smoking and I am already down to 1 coffee a day (from 5 to 6 usually).
I understand what you mean by Anxiety is strange, as I know I have it now but even with acceptance it still has a grip on me. I am hoping with my search for relaxation and the support of the forums, I can get back to a little more normality 🙂

Hi Gems
thanks for your reply, good to know it’s not just me! I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety since my early 20s, I’m now in my late 20s. I am usually good at managing my anxiety, but there are those inevitable days where I feel it more than others, especially if I’ve been stressed out or if I’ve over worked myself. On the days where I find my mood is particularly low and I’m feeling exhausted, I find that having sugary drinks/soft drinks, chocolate biscuits or those glucose jelly beans from the chemist are fantastic, all helps ALOT - I’ve found that it helps me to balance my mood quickly and gets me back to feeling like my normal self so I can actually get out of bed, do house cleaning, study etc.
and yes the sweating can feel a bit off putting as I sweat so much. Even just doing my grocery shopping I sweat a ton, and am usually super wet with sweat by the time I get home and need a shower and change of clothes. I find that keeping myself hydrated helps, if I don’t drink enough water I find I get nauseous from the sweating. Also I use the rexona clinical protection spray deodorant, and the curash baby powder with zinc oxide after I shower on areas that get particularly sweaty, such as around my breasts, on my back and butt/groin area which I find really helps me to stay dry for a bit longer.
Also I find that listening to high quality binaural beats with headphones helps with anxiety a lot. Binaural beats helps to alter your brainwaves from a highly anxious, stressed state to a more calm state. I know, sounds a bit weird, and I thought the same when I first started listening to them, but honestly has helped me tremendously. I recommend the ‘Brainwaves Binaural Beats’ app from the iTunes/apple App Store (the one with the yellow/orange background). The anxiety aid binaural beat on this app is the best I’ve found, having tried a few of these types of apps. IMO this app is the only one worth it.
hope this info helps! 🙂
