Hi
I'm feeling very anxious due to a change in my life from changing to a new job and moving from the country to city after covid forced me to move to country....
Have some good feelings but my mind wanders to what I have left behind.. coming back home to the city.. sleep very lightly and wake up 3am with a wandering mind

I understand, the transition you're going through can be quite stressful and unsettling. It's natural to feel anxious about leaving behind the familiarity of the country and adjusting to life in the city again.
Additionally, I came across an article on Yourmentalhealthpal.com called "How To Relax Your Mind And Body From Anxiety" that might be helpful for you. The article provides some excellent techniques to help relax your mind and body during this time. Practices like mindfulness, deep breathing, and visualization can be incredibly soothing when you're feeling overwhelmed. I'd encourage you to try some of these, like the progressive muscle relaxation exercise, when you find yourself waking up at 3am with a racing mind.
It's also important to be gentle with yourself and not judge the anxiety you're experiencing. Self-validation, as the article mentions, can go a long way in helping you manage these feelings. And remember to prioritize self-care activities that bring you comfort and a sense of grounding.
Change is always challenging, but with the right tools and a compassionate approach, you can absolutely get through this transition. I am wishing you all the best as you navigate this new chapter.

Do you have relatives where you were living in the country and is it far? Maybe you could plan some weekend visits while you get used to the move?
Be gentle on yourself, take things slowly…

Hi,
Change is always scary in the beginning but gets better over time. Don't allow your wandering mind and thoughts to control you and please don't overthink, take ONE day at a time.
For a good sleep and to control your anxious mind, try to exercise even if it is just taking small walks in your neighbourhood or nearby parks, that way you may also get to meet and talk with new people in your community which will be immensely helpful especially if you don't have family around.
Be proud of whatever changes / choices you have made as that in itself is a BIG STEP forward. It's not easy to move from one place to another especially people with an anxious mind.
Best wishes, take care...
