Affordable Medication for Anxiety

Hi everyone, new to this site. Struggling really bad with Anxiety and Depression as well as Epilepsy. I have been to see the CDA doctors and been prescribed oil and flower to control my symptoms but I cannot afford to buy it? Is this some kind of sick joke? I had no idea it would be so expensive. I would like to get it the legal way but this is not possible for me. I blame the government for making me have to go through the black market to be able to get my medication and would hold them responsible and accountable for anything that might happen to me while trying to achieve this. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way I can get cheaper scripts ? Can I get a discount through Medicare or the government? Any help is appreciated 🙂 sorry if it seems like a big rant but I am so lost and confused as to how to move forwards in my life with out my medication.

Hi Dave 100

Welcome to the bb forum.

It’s a shame you haven’t yet had a response—sometimes a delay occurs when a lot of posts come in at once.

Sounds like you’ve got a lot on your plate and really need your medication. It’s not good.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer to your questions as I’ve never been in that situation. My only thought would be to ask your pharmacist.

My reply to your post will push it back to the top and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along.

Kind thoughts to you

hey Dave, what is a CDA doctor, and oil and flower as a medication?
Happy to hear some more.

Yes, some meds are super expensive and if they're not approved or whatever they cost a lot. I can't afford melatonin, which is a natural sleep remedy... and that's so upsetting.

Just my opinion but I wouldnt imagine you could get too far with medicare or the government, i think though you could definitely find a charity that would help you pay for the medication.St vincent de paul etc could provide maybe coles vouchers etc to help save money, and then u could have more money for the medication.

I'd try looking to get charitable assistance which could offset the costs. Some medictions have generic brands much cheaper. I'd recommend also talking to whoever prescribed it to you who could evaluate if they know a cheaper route to get the same result. So sorry for the stress u are going through. It is horrific that access to mediction is controlled by finances and limited in that way, withholding necessary and life-saving assistance to ppl who truly need it. I am really sorry u are in this predicament. Medication should be affordable for all and it is shocking to have to consider wether to buy it or not as a budgeting issue, rather than a health issue.

Hello Dave, I also have epilepsy but have not been offered this type of medication, I wish I knew more about it, but please try these:

info@cdaclinics.com.au

https://cdaclinics.com.au

https://cannabisdoctorsaustralia.com.au ›

We'd be interested to see how you go.

Geoff.

Thank you 🙂

Cannabis Doctors Australia. Yeah Oil and Flower as medication. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post 🙂 . I hate to complain because there are people out there that would have bigger problems than me especially in terms of pain management. I just don’t understand the way the system works sometimes. I could save the government money by being able to get work if I could get the medication. I didn’t think anyone would really be able to find a solution to my problem but felt the need to reach out. Thanks again for the suggestions, very much appreciated 🙂

hey dave! Chronic pain has a lot of stress associated to it - i'm sure ppl here understand and can empathise, especially when the pain is "invisible" - it can add an extra layer of difficulties as the pain is hard to talk about and have recognised by others....i tihnk it's awesome u reached out here.

It's only my opinion that medicare wouldn't help too much but i'm not 100 percent sure. I'd be very curious if anyone had found any other ways to afford expensive medications. On these forums when I don't know something 100 perecent I just share my own experiences of mental health recovery - for me when i couldn't afford stuff for my mental health that was the route of seeking charity assistance. Some users sometimes ask family or friends to help offset the costs. It's hard.

I fully relate re work. If I could afford treatment and adequete housing etc i'd be in a better position to work and make more money, so it's a difficult cycle....

Sending care and support. Hang in there!!!

Hi Geoff thanks for your post. I guess I should have explained better in my op about my Epilepsy. I do not have a prescription of cannabis for my Epilepsy but for my anxiety. With my Epilepsy I get what you call auras and it’s no secret that when I take cannabis I don’t get auras and when I don’t I do. I have never actually had a seizure. I don’t want to give anyone hope though as I really know nothing about it.

Thank you, you too 🙂
