I honestly don't know how to start, except for asking if anyone else is in the same boat as me? I'm struggling to just press the "post" button because I hate sympathy and attention, I prefer being in the shadows if that makes any sense haha?
I guess deep down there is a quite lingering voice telling me to talk to someone?
Sincerely, megsii.

Hi Megsii,
I would love to hear more about your interest in painting and writing. I enjoy both although my painting skills are very ordinary. I have been published as a writer! Do you have a favourite style? (I'm partial to surrealism. Oh, to have a moustache like Salvador Dali - lol. I like to write creatively but tend to draw on policing experiences for inspiration. No-one could make up the stuff people do in real life!)
Will you tell me a bit about it?
Kind regards, John.

My interest in art has always been there, for one, my family is a very artistic family. I tend to not really have a style. My paintings are not realistic nor are they surreal. They are very um I guess you could say "deep". I express my feelings onto canvas, which most artists do anyway!
I just let the pencil/paintbrush glide as if it has a independent mind. Writing also, is in my family, though, none have published a novel, my writing seems to be very descriptive sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate the way I write. Have you published any novels?

Hi Megsii,
You describe your art well. I imagine that if it is your feelings you are expressing then some of the paintings must make you sad. Maybe expressing feelings on canvas is more effective than talking to others? Who knows?
I wrote a story when my baby daughter died that expressed my feelings while grieving and a gentleman that read it contacted me and said he wanted to edit a book on stories with a similar theme. He said my story was the catalyst. He cobbled together a bunch of such stories and had it published. He sent me a copy.
My other writings are usually to magazines like Police News, a couple of articles in motoring magazines and Sydney's Child on Road Safety and I did a whole bunch of interviews with some oldies at a sort of activities centre for them. I reduced the interviews to stories on their lives. It was a volunteer effort for a charity. Other than that, I haven't had anything published. I have never sought to have my fiction works published and am doing the stereotypical book of cop stories, but that is a work in progress.
What is it you hate about the way you sometimes write?
John. 🙂
