Hi Kiraleigh,

Not sure what age you are exactly, but I am in my late teens (I'm 17).

Feel free to express your thoughts and feelings on here, I'm sure you'll find a lot of people who can relate or people who can offer advice. Anyone on here who's older than you has once been your age and possibly experienced similar things to you, so they will be able to give you great advice or insight if you need.

It's great that you're here seeking support. I would love to hear more from you, maybe we have something in common that we can discuss!

hello kiraleigh,

im not sure how old you are but id say that im quite young compared to others on this site. i think adults forget how difficult it is to be a teenager. youre going through changes, wanting independence, meeting new people and learning new things, it can be overwhelming. responsibility can seem scary but it comes with its benefits too! try to enjoy the positives (i know it can be hard, believe me)

sending love your way 🙂

Hi sun+herflowers

Yes I agree, it can be tricky getting through life as a teenager, we all need to remember that sometimes! And you are right, thinking about the positives can be a great way to gain perspective. For example, you can try out lots of new hobbies and easily pursue them as extracurricular programs!

What do you guys think?

hi kiraleigh I would firstly would just like to welcome you to the beyondblue community and I also would like to applaud your strength and bravery in opening up about your issues. I wanted to say to you that you are not alone in what your going through at the moment I have been and most people in this community have to that's why I joined beyondblue because I wanted to help people that are currently going through what I've been through. being a teenager Is super hard struggling school, family, friends, extra activities it can be overwhelming. people forget how hard our teenage years are and I think we need more support systems in our schools so teenagers can thrive.

Hi Kiraleigh,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for posting! being an adolescent is never easy. I only just turned 21 so I understand all the hardships and responsibilities with school work, friends, and family during highschool/uni years. On top of that we are also finding our passions, values, and what we want in life!

Here if you ever need to talk!

sending you positive thoughts 🙂
