First time posting! Social anxiety anyone?

Hi guys so I work in customer service and I am fine talking to strangers usually I don't have any anxiety, but when it comes to people I work with or making friends I have the worst anxiety and tend to avoid it even with my boss I don't know what to talk about I over think everything and wonder if they think I'm too quiet or timid or I talk about boring thing and start over thinking what do I talk to them about???? But if it's a stranger at work I don't have this fear at all because I'm serving them! Anyone else have this problem? Any tips on how to over come it!?

Way to post anyway! Social anxiety is a b!@# and you and I both reached out tonight anyway. Go us. 🙂

I find what helps me is to think about what I enjoy in others and try and assess myself by that standard if I can't help assessing, so that I am reassured more than if I were looking for all the problems in past interactions to prove to myself why I should never leave the house. 😛

I think with work and service we have a script to follow, so maybe forming our own scripts helps.

Does that make sense?

Over thinker, I am quite confident with mist people. But in my car club the president is impossible fir me to talk to.

I have an ecplsibation, that he doesn't talk much unless it'd about him

He's a real estate agent so hell talk for ages about his commission and success.

That's boring to observe buy it could an answer to your issue. Talk about things that interest them.

But don't beat yourself up about it Over thinker. It isn't solely your fault, nor theirs. Its life with people

Yes, Tony WK, some people are impossible to connect to hey! I tend to think because we are inhabiting different worlds/realities. Maybe that's what that boring social chit-chat thing is about, frosting to try and cover the gap.
