Hi, I haven't been confident enough to leave my house for many months now. I believe there are people in the outside world I could connect with, so I guess I could maybe start here, behind a screen, for starters. I have Bipolar and BPD, and social anxiety. I will probably not be an asset but I hope I can, from my own experiences in life, maybe offer some helpful words to someone.
Anyway, That's me.

Hi Newlife?,
Firstly, welcome to the forums. Thank you for joining up, you are most certainly an asset here already. These forums are great and just a good way to connect with other people who are suffering from a variety of mental health concerns like BPD or social anxiety. Even if you just want to chat in the café section about non-mental health related things, that is fine too, everyone is very welcoming. Any support you can offer someone will be very appreciated, I am sure of it.
If you want to go into a little more about yourself, feel free, this is your thread and we are happy to get to know you.
My best for you,
Jay

Hi Newlife,
I have had similar experiences with social anxiety and being cooped up in the house, though I have moved past some of that now. So far I have found it very easy to chat to the people on here, especially each person having their own thread to talk through what they are going through while still being able to chat about lighter interesting topics in the social section.
Hope to see you around,
Em

hi Newlife and welcome to the forums
its hard to connect and get out when we are so anxious. im wondering have you considered speaking to a counsellor wheather it be online or in person?
there are so great people out there i believe, you just have to find them 🙂
if your worried about others maybe you could see about an interest themed small group or outing to get to know other people who have the same interests as you, that way you wont have to worry about awkward conversations and can talk about the things you like to do as well
i have BPD as well so feel free to chat about that as well if you like.
