There seem to have been a number of you referencing 'lost posts' over the last few days. There have been some very difficult to diagnose gremlins on these forums in the last few years, and we haven't had any major issues for a while...so I'm opening up this thread in order to gather some information from those of you who have experienced this.
If you have had a post go missing, then please let us know in here - BUT we need you to include the following information, otherwise we're firmly in needle/haystack territory:
1. Describe in as much detail as possible exactly what happened at the time you lost your post - what happened on the screen? Were there error messages etc?
2. Where were you posting (name of thread)?
3. When were you posting (time of day and date)?
4. What type of device are you using to post (desktop machine, phone, tablet), the browser you're using (Safari, Chrome, Firefox), and the operating system (Windows, Mac OS)
Thank you...

Hi Chris
Sometimes I like to look through old posts that I did years back, but they don't seem to show up in the my threads list anymore. Is there a time limit to what does show up?

Hi SB, if the threads aren't showing in My Threads any longer, then they have been removed from the forums. The vast majority of stuff remains online (going back to April 2013), but there may be some old threads that were removed when certain sections like Employment were retired. Those threads are still sitting there in the back end of the site, but need to be moved to new sections before they can be re-published. Given that most of that content is over a year old, doing this has been low on the priority list for the small team we have here.
The exception to the above is anything published in the Suicidal Thoughts section, threads that are inactive for longer than one month there are retired.

Hi Paul, if you're being redirected to the login screen, then it sounds like your session had expired at the time you hit send (a bit like what happens with online banking). Can you remember how long you'd been online in that browser window at the time you tried to post?

Thanks Chris
Good point....It was about 2 hours online.
I can be on here for 6-8 hours without a redirect.
Its no big deal but I have never gone straight back to the login page before
It does sound like a redirect though....Thanks Chris
