My journey to depression and anxiety started after losing my job after 18 years high stress and pressure caught up with me. But there are many good people and services available for help and I am grateful for that , the way forward continues.

i never thought I’d end up here but here is ok today

Hello Patch71, it's sad to see that you've lost your job after much dedication and trying to cope with all the demands and the pressure that was involved has now he anxiety and depression has set in, although it could have been building up over the years, trying to push it away, but it won't, it's too strong and need the help offered by your GP.

Can I just mention the 'mental health plan' which entitles you to 10 Medicare paid sessions with a psychologist, so please ask your doctor regarding this.

I hope you do feel comfortable talking to us because we have been through our own struggles ourselves and understand the position you're in and hope to hear back from you.

Geoff.

Thanks Geoff yesterday was a tough day with anxiety I am currently seeking medical help for my issues so thanks for the advise I can say from experience that I waited way too long before I sort help. But after 6 months I have learnt some good techniques like mindfulness and meditation especially first thing when I wake, it can settle me enough to get through each day

Today is better and I’ve found that it doesn’t go away but I am able to manage one day at a time

I’m ok just for today
