Hi Everyone. I've been a longtime supporter of BB but until now have not taken the plunge into these forums myself. I was diagnosed with anxiety approx 3 years ago which was quite a relief as I then received an answer to what was happening & also some help. During the last year I seem to have had a run of bad luck with my physical health & in turn a lot of time off work which has seen my job performance suffer. Outwardly I'm a very confident & bubbly person but sometimes it's a whole different scenario in my head. I'm doing my best to 'keep going' lately but am really struggling. I try to do all the right things: fresh air, exercise, eat well, rest etc but that old anxiety demon is being very persistent of late.
I would be most grateful for any advice or tips to help me through this latest struggle thanks & good wishes to all!

Hi LilSis, welcome
Glad you have posted.
It's well documented by me here in these pages, my battle with anxiety. And it took 25 years to finally be rid of it. Anxiety increase from a child to 31yo then a workplace incident panic attacks and obsession were the way.
So therapy commenced and I was taught muscle tensioning exercises. At first this process, that takes around 25 minutes each night before sleep, was a waste of time as was deep breathing. Seriously though, it whittled away at the real issue- being uptight about everything. I think maturing more helped also.
I suppose, don't expect miracles quickly, its long term remedies that work.
Another relaxing and educational method was to follow a man called "Maharaji (real name Prem Rawat) he has many youtube videos. My favourite is Sunset. Have a listen to that. He puts things into perspective and makes sense.
There are heaps of threads here also.
