New Kid on the block!

Hi there everyone.

I've just joined the community and from just reading over a few threads, I've noticed a lot of support and encouragement.

Anyhow, I've been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, severe obsessive compulsive disorder and just a few weeks ago diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. I'm just coming to terms with my bipolar diagnosis as I don't have a great understanding of it. I'm learning though.

I won't go into too much detail, but I'd just like to say how pleased I am to be here and how I'm looking forward to meeting with and connecting with you all 🙂

Hi Little_Deer

Welcome to the forums and thankyou for taking the time (and courage) to post too!

Thankyou so much for the super kind thoughts about how you have found the support here 🙂

Just to let you know I used to have chronic anxiety now followed by depression and it can be an awful place to be in for sure.

The forums are a very friendly and non judgemental place to post. There are many gentle people that can be here for you.

When I joined the forums in January last year I was at rock bottom with clinical depression. There have been so many people that have helped me so much here.

The Beyond Blue forums are a safe place to post too. Your privacy (and mine) is paramount here.

Its good to meet you Little_Deer. I do hope you feel comfortable posting whats on your mind. If we didnt have new members posting there would be no forums.

Thanks Paul, it's good to make contact with people with similar experiences 🙂

No worries Little_Deer and thankyou for posting back too!

If you wish you can have a look around the forums. If you are up to it you are more than welcome to answer any post as per your experience (as I am doing...peer support) and if not you are just as welcome to be a part of the Beyond Blue forum family too 🙂

I have had so much support from the members here where my depression/anxiety is concerned. Its a wonderful forum to be a part of

No worries 🙂

I think I'll give that a try. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I was getting a little lost and overwhelmed haha

I really had no idea what was happening here when I joined last year. The headings and various thread titles overwhelmed me too. (especially with my 'tired' mind at the time) It took me weeks to get the courage to post my own thread....All I remember was being nervous...very nervous...lol

There is always good news though Little_Deer....Management are in the middle of changing the forum layout so its more user friendly for you and myself 🙂

I hope you can stick around the forums. (If you wish to of course)

Really good to meet you Little_Deer.

My kind thoughts

Hi Little_Deer 😊,

I liked your post on the getting to know you thread. Good on you for jumping straight in to meet people!

Like Paul said (waves to Paul) this place is friendly even if at first it can seem a bit overwhelming. Just ask if you need some support ok?

There is a great thread by Kazzl where a few newer members with bipolar have been chatting about their experiences recently. Do you think it would help you to have a read?

Maybe they will be able to answer any questions or worries you have about your diagnosis.

Lovely to meet you 😊

Thanks Nat and Paul, I'll definitely check out the threads mentioned. And I'll keep finding my way around the site and message boards.

Thank you both for your kindness and support, I really do appreciate it!!
