I've had depression, anxiety and ptsd for approximately 10 years. My marriage fell apart from my illness. My new partner wants to understand but he doesn't.
A few weeks ago my dr changed my meds and my partner saw the change as a way of me getting off my meds. What a mistake.
Im back on my meds but I'm back to feeling numb, like the world means nothing.
I hope things will improve soon, but in my state of mind hope has not much meaning

Hi Floss70,
Firstly, welcome to the forums. Sorry to read what you are going through but well done for posting, it takes a lot of courage to post how you are feeling so well done, this is a safe non judgemental environment with many great people.
It is very tricky for partners or spouses or relative to sometimes understand fully what going through any mental illness is like, is there a possibility to take your partner to the doctor with you and maybe get the doctor to try and explain it to them, sometimes hearing it from someone other than the sufferer can help. May want to even direct them to these forums as we have a whole section dedicated to information on supporting someone with a mental illness, it is under "The Facts" section at the top of the page.
Are you currently seeing a psychologist for your mental health issues? How can we help you in these forums? If you just want to vent, that is ok too, we are always happy to listen and give advice where we can.
My best for you,
Jay

Hi Floss,
I think Jay left you a very compassionate reply as well as some thoughtful suggestions.
I admit that I don't really have anything particularly helpful or insightful to say. But for the little that it might be worth, I hear the despondency in your post. It must be so hard...you sound a little deflated.
Kind thoughts,
Pepper

Try and get him to read about depression or click onto 'Get Support' and scroll down until you see 'Publications to Download', this is a booklet by BB explaining the many problems
