Anxiety

Community Member
I have been suffering from acute anxiety in the last few weeks. It is a terrible feeling of fear, a problem I have struggled with for a long time on and off. I can normally remove myself from the fear but this time I feel paralysed. My GP is helping me and I have a wonderful supportive husband. I just can't stop repetitive thoughts that seem to me unresolvable. It is such a struggle. I am trying to live in the moment but my whole being is enveloped in this fear. Hopefully one day it will just go away. I keep looking for answers but there seems to be none.

Hello Aree

Welcome to the forums and good on you for having the courage to post too!

Anxiety can be an awful feeling to have. Whether its stress related (our environment) or clinical anxiety which involves panic attacks is just as emotionally painful too

I understand where you are coming from Aree as I used to have chronic anxiety attacks for a while. You have done really well by engaging your GP as they have a better understanding re anxiety than they used to.

I still see my GP every month for a 'fine tune' after my years with anxiety. I still see a psychologist as often as I can to help me if I am going through a difficult period.

The Good News!! The severity of anxiety does decrease......over time....with on going regular visits to a health professional. Unfortunately there isnt a quick fix but after studying anxiety for a while the earlier this awful disorder is treated the better your recovery will be 🙂

Kudos to your husband for being such a wonderful supportive partner....Nice1

If you wish to post there are many gentle people on the forums that can be here for you.

You are a proactive person that will recover Aree

Hi Aree and welcome,

Sorry to hear what you are experiencing, i understand exactly how you feel as I too suffer on and off. Some great words from Paul. Have you tried writing down your fears/concerns? Sometimes writing things down helps as it removes the thought from your mind onto the paper You can then throw the paper away therefore throwing the thoughts away. Have you had your hormones levels tested as this can also affect anxiety if they are unbalanced.

Hope this is of some help. Please keep posting whenever you need to.

Take care

Thankyou for hearing me. I think writing is a good idea but a bit of a challenge. I will give it a go. Thankyou for your support. I just want to beat this.
