Dear Trialanderror~

Welcome to the Forum. The way the health system works unfortunately one can have to wait long periods for much needed treatment. I think you are very wise to try to contact others with the same problem in the interim.

If you use Google to search:

bpd beyondblue forum

You will find many threads where people talk about BPD and how they are managing. Plus of course others may come here to your thread.

Unfortunately inside the Forum we are not in a position to mention specific support groups, however if you were to ring our 24/7 Help line on 1300 22 4636 the staff there should be able to say what is available in your area.

Hi Trialanderror,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for being here.

Gosh finding support groups is hard!

I've noticed that you are in Victoria (given that you mentioned Spectrum) so I've tried to find some resources below -

- http://borderlinesupport.com.au/ This site is listed on the Black Dog Institute and the Sane website as running support groups for people with BPD. I'm not personally aware of it but unfortunately it's under maintenance at the moment but might be worth bookmarking and checking back later.

- From the Mental Health Foundation of Australia http://www.mhfa.org.au/CMS/Support-Groups

- Neami National offer support groups. They aren't BPD specific (just mood disorders) but there does seem to be more to pick from http://www.neaminational.org.au/get-support/find-service/all

- VIC Health accessing Mental Health services. If you click on your location you'll be able to find your local Community Health centre. Having worked in one before I know they often run lots of different support groups that aren't advertised online. http://www.health.vic.gov.au/mentalhealthservices/

Hope this helps! Best of luck
