Anxiety and Ocd medication

Hi,

I'm not sure how to ask this question, so I'm just going to go ahead and ask.

Are anti-psychotics ever used in the treatment of Ocd and anxiety?

dear Bluey moon, well I know the medical profession believe that certain antidepressants have an effect on people who have OCD, and I'm certainly not qualified to say, but I just go on my own experience, so what I can say is that I still have habits/rituals, but whether they have been cut down by taking medication I don't know so I can't answer that, and I don't want to stop taking them, because I know that I will fall back into the pit, and I don't want that to happen.

My doctor hasn't suggested about me taking any anti-psychotic medication, but it could be possible. Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for your reply! Your advice is always welcome and valuable!

My doctor has not suggested this either. It was more a question asked out of curiosity. But a small part of me is still obsessing over the scizophrenia thing (gosh you must be sick of hearing about it), my obsessions seem to stem from things I had previously read on the net, (I'm not doing this anymore) .

This week I've been worried I'm becoming paranoid or talking myself into becoming paranoid.

I do know I have to give the medication time to work and I have to understand it's not a magic fix!

Thank you again for replying and caring!
