Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..
Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...
Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..
My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...
Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..
Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..
Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...
My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

I did a few things well, yesterday, (I am up well past midnight, feel I should NOT write tis, but I WANT to record these;
I was ready early enough to make my Vote, via the phone - after an upsetting interruption, to do some fruitless research, I had another phone call, which I could deal with, & typed correct info & sent another message & then calmed myself more& then -,
Did my Voting!
(which I'd been preparing for more than a week. & researching since May 9. Yep, I'm taking it seriously.
After a late breakfast, I wnt out & walked up the road, bought bread I wanted, & the hot corned beef (with assistance & asking someone about how the corned beef arrives, frozen or not. & it is resh, so I can freeze!😺)
Then got crumbed salmon & chips & took them home. (Too much noise there.)
& was careful when preparing to cross the road, thinking about the task of looking as much as I can & listening, concentrating, not allowing stray thoughts & feelings distract me... All Good!
Yes, I was scared & bothered, but I can still do this 'small' errand for myself, I did manage to Vote correctly, with much preparation, & I must say, with the kind patience of people on the other end of the phone,
& I even kept myself mostly under control when speaking to my helper, who I ams so disappointed with today.

Now I am going to bed!🙀💤

Even up here, in sunny Qld, today, & lookds like for another week, will be cloudy with more rain! It was cool this morning, & I really wanted more sleep, but Icontinued to feel too cool, my feet were cold, & I just wasnt' warming up.
So, after a bit, I got up, rather than trying to snuggle in aeven more, remembering how when I get up & move about & eat some breakfast, lunch, or even a snack, that will help me feel warmer. I remember times it has,, but still don't easily think of it when I am cold & this makes me feel I want to burrow in & hibernate, or just be 'out of this world' for a while. Sometimes I'd rather sleep than feel what I was feeling.
Today, I made a conscious decision to get myself up & make a hot lunch instead. & it worked a treat! 😺
So now, I'm making bikkies as well. The smell of baking is one that makes me feel happier, no matter how low I might be feeling at the time.
I'm doing these thing for myself today, & it feels good.😺

Hello Everyone...
I didn’t do much today...done what most other people had to do today...and that is to vote...my friend picked me up and brought me back home...I made her a cuppa tea and we chatted for about half hour then home she went....That was my day today...
mmMekitty, well done going to the shop on your own...and crossing the road.that would have been very difficult for you to do with your impaired vision...I hope you are proud of you accomplishing that...
I like the smell of baking....definitely agree it really is a mood lifter...if only I could bake biscuits or bread...
Hugs everyone..

Hi Grandy,
what usually goes into making basic biscuits? I think, plain flour, butter/margerine, & water,& water (or, I use milk), & something to sweeten the mix sugar or honey or brown sugar, or non-sugar substitute, something like that.
I've just played around with how much of each, but I suppose there would be heaps of recipes online.
Then I want to also add other tasty things, including sultanas, rolled oats, pecans, or other nuts, my breakfast cereal, (not today) or I could have bought coconut, or other types of dried fruit, or peanut paste, or proper chocolate chips, (I have some made with stevia instead of sugar, but they are small & seemed to disappear within the bikkies I made, so this time, they are on top!)
I tried to make the mix less thick this time, too.
I also use a sheet of baking paper on the tray, or you could do the old grease & flour coating the tray before doloping mixture onto it.
I don't know what temperature my oven is set at - can't read it! half way sounds good to me, paws crossed.
I am playing, experiementing; my little mmMekitten likes it very much - even dipping paws in the bowl (raw flour is not so nice!), just like the little mmMekitten she wants to be!😺It really feel very good.
& messy... guess who gets to do the clean up? But I love my little mmMekitten, so I will not complain.
Warm hugs to you & furbabies.
mmMekitty
PS I've not tried bread - that does seem more technical & daunting.

Hey Grandy kitty and everyone ☺
Recently which I haven't done for a while was walk which for the most these days is quite hard work.
It's not big a big one to the shops and back.
I felt better for it not only a bit of energy came from it but it for a while changed my focus on depressive thinking and I felt a n8ce glow of achievement for quite a while.
Trying to keep that memory alive with the good feelings that spark from it.
It's good reading peoples achievements. Keep at it good peeps. We're doing good by ourselves pushing through
Kitty very brave and smart how you managed crossing the Rd.
Grandy love well done with the voting too. Loven you had some friend time too. Breaks up a day having good bits.
Today I aim to walk again. Considering doing bigger walks near future too
Thanks for a great thread Grandy and for peoples posts. It's encouraging
⚘

😺Hi DB - I thought, big enough for you, & then I read you want to do bigger walks, so maybe not? You, having goals & ambition, great!
It's hard to go from a wish or desire, to beginning to act, but when we do, that's when we feel the sense of having achieved something, like you did.
I wrote about mine, to hold onto the feelings more. If I don't stop & in some way, recognise the achievement I don't see what I did as at all significant. I still need to learn to give myself credit for even the smallest achievement.
So, I'm doing more washing today, & will have the dryer running, making the bathroom warm, so I can have a shower in that warm bathroom! 😺
