Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..

Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...

Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..

My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...

Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..

Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..

Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...

My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

Hello everyone......🤗.

I thought I would refresh this thread, I haven’t achieved anything for a few weeks...so I thought if I challenged myself by writing down at least one achievement per day it might not make me feel so lazy and guilty....

So today...I am washing some different curtains, lighter ones to hang in my lounge room to let the sun shine in and make the room lighter for the colder months that will soon approach...

Maybe I think a bit too early to do this...but it’s something to do instead of me wasting away my day doing nothing at all...

What are you up to today?....any plans to do something today or tomorrow?....did you achieve doing it?...it doesn’t matter if you didn’t....We would really like to know....you just might be helping someone else...to get motivated to achieve something small......

Maybe this thread can help you, by writing down something small that you did today...,

Kind thoughts lovely people..

Grandy..

Hi Grandy, I feel I have neglected this thread before...but not today!😺

That's one small thing done today...

Another is: I put the washing on today, which I had intended to do yesterday, but didn't because I slept in late. Today, I came here, lost track of time, & although it's late again, I put the washing on anyway. 😺

You planted flower seeds - remember? 😺That's something you did, ?yesterday?

& you thought to promote your thread today! 😺

Hi everyone,

Mondays and Tuesdays are very busy for me...until I get home..Then after saying hello to my fur girls... yes I do talk to them like humans, even have conversations with them...answering my own questions😂😂...I just laid on my lounge until dinner time then...Night time came..which I do like...because I know I’m safe from visitors, phone calls etc...I do feel somewhat relaxed and with not so much anxiety...I do stay up until the early hours of the morning...

Anyway, my achievement yesterday was going to bed before midnight....and today, I’ve washed my bed sheets, doona cover and pillow slips, hung them out to dry...and now have nice fresh, clean sheets and doona cover on and ready for my next sleep....

Hoping your all having a good day..

Kind thoughts with my care..

Grandy..

HI everyone,

Today I spoke to my PDR, using Face Time for the second time ever. I don't know if I can claim that as an achievement, because the only thing I did differently to what I did last week, which didn't make Face Time work, was that I asked Siri to call [his name] Face Time.

What I do think of as an achievement was that I wore a short sleeve top, not long sleeve as I would do if I was visiting him at his place. When people see me, I have tended to want to be covered up, wrists to ankles. It was uncomfortable, feeling like a bug viewed through a microscope, scrutinised. Funny, though, because I can't see whether or not he can see me, most of the time, he said, he could only see my right ear!

Grandy, could you tell me more how to make the cheese & puff pastry twist thing you have mentioned somewhere? I have finally remembered to get some pastry & would love to try your idea. Getting th pastry was another small achievement, I guess. Now I would like to cook Grandy's Cheese Twists. 😺

Because my home helper couldn't come to my place yesterday, today I have caught up on the dishes, & also put out some rubbish. & I didn't even break any dishes, or stumble over anything along the way to & from the bins. 😺

It does feel good to simply pause & notice these achievements we usually overlook as if they don't matter - but they do!

I managed to finish some writing I had been putting off.

Hi all

I managed to cook another few meals for the freezer. Huge achievement because now I have 4 different types of meals that we can grab out of the freezer and warm up. Will need maybe some extra veg on the side occasionally because I’m trying to get my health back.

Anyone struggle with invasions of flies.

Hiya Grandy and everyone doing very well getting things big and small done 👍

I'm about to start on some paperwork for seriously about 4 plus yrs I've needed to do badly.

It stresses me out enormously when I need this in order it'd make it so simple esp in poor mh.

I'm doing it because when it's out the way I'm going to start something for a top beautiful friend which is another thats been on my list of to do's for wow how long that'll shorten it by a few kilometres 😊

Seriously everyone well done. Pushing through like this we're starting to gain control over tremendous hards which I think would be a great help towards recovery.

Thanks for a great thread here Grandy 🤗

Hi mmMeKitty, Quirky, MC, Deebi and everyone..

I think everyone has done with what they have achieved the last few days...mmMeKitty, It must have been hard doing something that you don’t normally do..well done..You triumphed over your fear of thinking you was scrutinised by people....

Quirky.., Doesn’t it give you a feeling of satisfaction knowing that you finished some writing that you wanted/needed to do...Well done..

MC...Cooking for a few days is hard to do...it takes up so much time and energy just standing around cooking..I have been buying those McCains frozen dinners...I’ve no motivation to cook lately...You done so well, making enough to freeze...sure makes life a little easier just warming them up...

Deebi...,Good on you, getting all your paperwork done,..I mostly hand things over to my support worker...paperwork is too confusing for my mind...Looking forward to hearing about the start of whatever your doing for your special friend...only if you want to....I know you will start it, when the dreaded paperwork is finished...

mmMeKitty,

I do the cheese sticks very simply..

Unthaw ? sheet/s of puff pastry...spread a little egg wash onto it with a brush...then

sprinkle some grated Parmesan and Tasty cheese over the thawed sheet...cut sheet with cheese on it into..idk maybe roughly 1”strips...Then all I do is twist the strips very gently and not to tight, then put them on a scone tray lined with oven paper, once that’s done I sprinkle some more cheese on then...then pop them into a hot oven until they are golden brown.....

oh please do be careful...those bits of melted cheese on the oven paper are really hot...If your like me..I love the taste of those fallen bits of cheese...can’t resist them😂😂😂..

Today...I had to clean up my home, for a mental health visit and review....Motivation does come along fairly easy...when you have to prove your mentally well enough to care for yourself...

I did well....now I can go back to being myself again...

Hope everyone has a great night..

Hugs...🤗,

Grandy.,

Well done everyone for their efforts and achievements. Great stuff.

For me, a weirdlý tired day, which made everything that little bit harder.

I did manage to get out to a yoga class and push myself up the hill on my bike to get home despite feeling horrendous.

Early night in bed for me tonight.

Oh, those cheese sticks sound yummy! I wish I had some to snack on right now!

Banksy - well done on a bike ride AND yoga, though I do agree things are harder on low energy days.

The only thing I am consistently achieving at the moment is light exercise. Dishes, vacuuming, mopping, I can go days (weeks! Eek) without managing, but it seems so easy to just walk out the door or grab my bike and off I go without having to think too hard. Plus - maybe I feel like I’m getting away from my boring, lonely, sad, tired life and chores that I’m not up to, for a bit.

Sorry, it turned a bit negative, but exercise - I’m achieving that.
